By order of the Board, an order was drawn on Robert Towers, to deliver Capt. Hazelwood 6 cwt. of Brimstone, and one other order to deliver Peter De Haven, for the use of Lewis Prahl, 100lbs. Brass, for mounting to the Firelocks making by him for the use of this Province.

Upon application of Robert Towers, for the payment of two accounts for Firelocks, Salt Petre, &c., purchased and paid for by him, By order of the Board, two orders was drawn on the Committee of accounts in his favour, amounting to £160 13 4.

A Memorial was this day sign'd and sent to Congress, solliciting that Honorable Body for a few pieces of the heaviest Canon taken by Commodore Hopkins at Providence.

Letters was this day wrote to the Committees of Cumberland, York & Northampton Countys, requesting they would each send to the Com'y in this City, fifty-six Firelocks, Bayonets & accoutrements, out of the Number made in said Counties for the use of this Province; the said Arms are requested for the arming the Battalion of Musketry raising for the immediate defence of this Province.

Resolved, that a powder Magazine be built on the Ground belonging to the powder Mill of Congress, at French Creek, and that Clement Biddle & Capt. Jos. Cowperthwaite procure materials, and employ proper persons to carry this Resolve into execution.

Upon application of Ludwig Fohrer for the payment of his account for Firelocks, purchased of him by Capt. Jones, & for the repairs of sundry others, for his & Capt. Dorrey's Company in Colo. De Haas' Battalion in the service of the United Colonies, By order of the Board, an order was drawn on Messrs. Mease & Caldwell, in favour of said Fohrer, for £93 11 1, being the amount of said

accounts.

By order of the Board, an order was drawn on Jno. Nixon & others, the Committee of accounts, in favour of Colo. Hart, for twenty-five pounds two shillings & 6d, being the amount of 10 Firelocks purchas'd by Henry Wynkoop, in Bucks County, which sum is to be charged to the acc't of arms purchased for account of Congress.

Upon application of L't. Colo. Caleb Parry, for a sum of money for the use of the Musket Battalion in the service of this Province, By order of the Board, an order was drawn on Mich'l Hillegas, Esq'r, in favour of said Parry, for the sum of £250.

Resolved, That it is necessary L't Boger & Mr. John Draper attend in this City on Monday next, in order to be examined in the Court of Admiralty, and that they return to their station at Germantown as soon as they are dismiss'd by the said Court.

Resolved, That the Reverend David Jones be, and he is hereby appointed Chaplain to Colo. Shee & Colo. Wayne's Battalions of Pennsylvania Troops in the service of the United Colonies.

By order of the Board, an order was drawn on Jno. Nixon, Esq'r, & others, the Committee of accounts, in favour of Colo. Hart, for the use of Henry Wynkoop, for £7 15, being the amount of 3 Firelocks purchased by him, which is to be Charged to the arms bought for account of Congress.

By order of the Board, Robt. Towers, Commissary, was directed to deliver to Colo. Sam'l Miles, or his order, Intrenching Tools he may have occasion for, taking Receipts for the same.

And to Capt. Sam'l Morris, one quarter Cask of Gunpowder, for the use of the light Horse.

Upon application of Capt. Nath'l Falconer for two Swivels on Board one of the Guard Boats, By order of the Board, Capt. Hazelwood was directed to deliver them for the use of Congress.

In Consequence of the Intelligence receiv'd that the Roebuck Man-of-War is aground upon Brandywine, Capt. Reed was ordered with the Provincial Ship Montgomery, to proceed down the River and Bay, and join the Commodore, who is already on his way with the armed Boats, in order take or destroy her. Capt. Reed was also order'd to make up his Compliment of Seamen out of the Floating Battery, and to take a detachment of Capt. Procter's artillery.

A Le'r was this day wrote to the Commodore, acquainting him that this Board had directed Mr. James Mease & Mr. Sam'l Morris to enquire into the cause of the armed Boats returning, & if those Gent'n should think proper to order them down again, the Commodore is to proceed back, untill he is fully satisfied that the Roebuck has got off.

Resolved, That Mr. John Reed be appointed Clerk, Commissary of Stores, and Barrack Master, at Fort Island, and that he be allowed five pounds per Month for his services, to commence at the time of his being first employed at the Fort.

Upon application of Colo. Sam'l Miles, for Medecines for the use of three Battalions of Pennsylvania Land Forces, By order of the Board, Doct'r Rush & Doct'r Duffield were requested to furnish the Surgeons of said Battalions with the necessary Drugs and Medecines.

The Sisterhood of Bethlehem having presented this Board with a quantity of Linen Rags, for the benefit of such as may be wounded in the service of their Country,

Resolved, That this instance of their Humanity be thankfully acknowledged.

Resolved, that Mr. Howell & Mr. Mease be a Committee to enquire if two of the armed Boats can be fitted out, in order to go down to the Bay of Delaware, to be there station'd for the protec tion of the commerce of this Province, and if they find that it is practicable to fit or alter two for that purpose, that they employ proper persons to carry the same into execution.

By order of the Board, the following Notice was order'd to be published in the papers:

"All persons who are now prisoners upon Parole, in the different parts of this Province, are strictly enjoined not to leave the district that has been appointed for their Residence, without the written permission of this Board, And all prisoners who come into this City by the Licence of the Congress, are directed upon their arrival immediately to communicate such Licence to this Committee, And if any Prisoners shall be found tress passing against this order, their Persons will be immediately seized and imprisoned.

Upon application of Colo. Sam'l Miles, for a sum of Money for the use of Matthias Slough, who is appointed by assembly to provide necessaries for the Troops raising in the pay of this Province, and for a sum of Money for himself, for the use of said Troops, By order of the Board, two orders were drawn on Mich'l Hillegas, Esq'r, one for two thousand pounds in favour of Colo. Miles, for the use of said Slough, & one other for one thousand pounds in favour of said Miles, for use aforesaid.

Upon application of Sam'l Smith, for the payment of 5 Firelocks purchased by him in Bucks County, By order of the Board, an order was drawn on Jno. Nixon, Esq'r, & others, the Committee of accounts, for £13 15, which is directed to be charged to account of arms purchased for Congress.

By order of the Board, Robert Towers, Commissary, was directed to deliver Colo. Sam'l Miles what Provincial Rifles he may have, taking Receipts for the same.

Resolved, That Colo. Nixon & Capt. Whyte, be a Committee to direct the fitting out, to Cruize in the Cape May Channel for the protection of the Trade of this Province, four of the Guard Boats now built and under the Command of the Captains Lawrence, Gamble, Greenway, & Hans.

Resolved, That this Committee in future meet every Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays, precisely at 9, & set 'till 2 O'Clock each day; and if any Letters or business of Consequence, should be deliver'd, or come to the knowledge of the Secretary on any other day, that he immediately acquaint a Member of the Board therewith, that the other Members may be called together if thought

necessary.
