Broadway, east side, Colonie line to Columbia.
Lots (1) (2) (3) (8) form parts of an additional grant made to the estate of Arent Van Curler. :
His first patent contained a parcel of land on the opposite side of Broadway, having a:
front on that street of 12 rods, and running back into the woods 44 rods. These two lots;
were patented to Willem Beekman (administrator of A. Van Curler), in 1680. Lot (8):
was conveyed to Cornelis Van Schelluyne by the administrators of Widow Van Curler:
in 1681; lots (2) and (3) to Jacob Ten Eyck and Isaac Verplank for a tannery, by whom:
lot (3) was reconveyed to Jeronimus Wendell for the same purpose, with the use of an:
alley three and one-half feet wide from the street. In 1769, Isaac Verplanck's grandson:
William was in possession of lot (2). Subsequently Orange street was laid out through:

(2). 1652-67. Patented to Arent Andriese Bratt.-Patents, 444, 456. 1700-1, Barent Albertse Bratt
owned a portion of his uncle's lot (2), and, was forbidden to enclose the highway (Steuben street)
at the backside of the main guard. He then lived "without ye north gate westward of ye main
guard."-Alb. An., IV, 109, 127; x, 60; In 1729, Johannes A. Čuyler had a lot on what is now the
east corner of Steuben and Broadway, a portion of this patent.-Alb. An., IX, 47. On the south
east corner was the main guard by the river bank whence the palisades enclosing the north side
of the village passed up the hill on the present line of Steuben street. Steuben and Columbia
streets from Broadway to the river were not laid out at this early day, (1667).

Broadway, East side, Maiden Lane to Exchange.

The present street known as Dean street, was early recognized as a public
road, although its exact position and width were not then fixed.
(1) & (2). This lot was a part of the patent (1652), of Cornelis Theunise
Bos, alias Van Westbrook, which included the street north of it, and the
lot on the east corner of Maiden lane and Broadway. This patent had a
front on the latter street of 7r.5ft. (89 feet), and a depth of 13r. (156 feet),
exclusive of the garden in the rear across Dean street on the river side.
The depth of parcel one, varied at different times from 5r.7ft.3in. to 7r.9ft.,
the breadth from 24 to 27 feet. It passed through many hands before com-
ing into possession of Harme Gansevoort; 1659, Hubert Janse, the rear por-
tion; 1667, the widow of Hendrick Andriesse [Van Doesburgh,] as holding
the right of Ph. Hendr: Brouwer who paid the purchase money; 1667, Hen-
drick Gerritse Vermeulen; 1667, Arent Janse; 1667, Paulus Martense [Van
