Gerrit Luykasse Wyngaard bought eight feet of land next to Pieter Van Brugh's, thirty feet deep if not hindered by the stockades.-Alb. An., IV, 175. In 1706, Evert Wendel owned this lot, to which was added 16 feet on the west side of the same and as deep as Mr. Van Brugh's, provided it does not include the round passage; price 45 pounds: in 1724, he purchased five feet more, making his lot 29 feet wide on Jonker street.-Alb. This lot from 1668 to 1674 was owned by Jochem Wesselse the baker; in the latter year he sold it to Hendrick Cuyler; then the town stockades formed the rear boundary; in 1703, Pieter Van Brugh, his son-inlaw, owned it.-Alb. The first reference to Norton street found in the records is in Book of Deeds, vol.
