Resolutions.

Resolution respecting the distribution of the Laws and Journals of this session.

RESOLVED, By the Legislative Council and House of Representatives of the Illinois territory, That it shall be the duty of the Secretary of the territory, to ascertain the number of officers entitled to the laws of the territory in each county, and forward the same number of the laws of this territory, passed at the present session, to each clerk of the county courts respectively, with instructions to such clerks to distribute them amongst said officers. And it shall be his duty also to send to each county such number of the journals as they may be respectively entitled to in proportion to the number of voters in each county as appears by the last election returns filed in his office, which shall be forwarded so soon as they are deposited in his office. And it shall be the duty of the clerks respectively to distribute the same amongst the inhabitants of each township of their respective counties.

RESOLVED, By the Legislative Council and House of Representatives of the Illinois territory, that Elias K. Kane, esq. be and he is hereby appointed to superintend the printing of the laws of this session of the Legisla ture, and to furnish a copy thereof for the printer; and it shall be his further duty to place an index to the same. And it shall be the duty of Messrs. Cook & Blackwell, to procure a certificate from the secretary of the territory of their having printed and delivered in his office the number of copies, both of the journals and laws which they have contracted to print, and it shall be the duty of the secretary to estimate what they shall be entitled to, and certify the same to the auditor, who shall issue his warrant for that amount, on the territorial treasury.
