est on said loan, and to the redemption of principal, whenever that can be done on fair and reasonable terms, or to invest any surplus after paying interest, in such productive manner as they shall deem expedient; to extend all meetings of the stockholders of such company, and vote on the stock of said city; to appoint by writing an attorney or proxy to vote for them, which may be one of their own body or any other person; to appoint an agent or attorney to transact any business in relation to their trust, and him again displace; and moreover, to do and perform all other acts and things, necessary and proper to be done, for and in behalf of the said city, in the proper conducting and managing said trust.

Sec. 3. That the city council are hereby required, to provide funds for the payment of interest on said loan, from time to time, as the same may become due; and, also, for the final redemption of the principal of said loan or loans, when the same shall become payable; and if the revenue of said city shall not be sufficient, the city council shall levy and collect taxes, from time to time, as may be necessary, in the same manner that other taxes in said city shall be levied and collected, which shall be appropriated and paid over to said commissioners, for the purpose aforesaid; and if said city council shall neglect or refuse to provide funds as aforesaid, the said commissioners, or a majority of them, (having first applied all funds in their hands applicable to such purpose,) are hereby authorized and empowered, from time to time, to levy and collect such tax or taxes as may be necessary for the purpose aforesaid, in the same manner that the city council might have done, and also to appoint all the proper officers for the levying and collecting the same.

Sec. 4. That the commission hereby created, shall continue until the money to be borrowed shall be refunded: and if the place of either of said commissioners shall become vacant by death or resignation, removal from the county of Cuyahoga or otherwise, the place so become vacant shall be filled by remaining commissioners, who shall appoint a suitable man who will serve, and give him a certificate of his appointment, who shall thenceforth have the same rights and be subject to the same rights and duties, as his predecessor, or any other of said commissioners; and the person whose place shall have been vacated, shall not be responsible for any act of the commissioners done or suffered after his place shall have been vacated.

Sec. 5. The said commissioners shall keep a book on which they shall enter in any intelligible manner, all their proceedings in relation to said trust; and they shall likewise keep accurate accounts of all moneys which shall come to their hands; and shall render a fair statement of their doings to the city council once every six months; and said books shall be, at all reasonable times, subject to the inspection of the city council, or any committee by them authorized.

Sec. 6. That the city council shall, from time to time, pay the commissioners their reasonable expenses, and also for their time actually employed in the discharge of their duties abroad from the said city, such compensation as said city council shall deem reasonable.

To incorporate the First Presbyterian Society of Green Creek Township, in the County of Sandusky.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ohio, That Matthew McElhany, Liman Gilpin and William B. Stephenson, and those who may be hereafter associated with them, be, and they are hereby created a body politic and corporate, by the name of the "First Presbyterian Society of Green Creek Township, Sandusky County," agreeably to an act passed March 5th, 1836, entitled "An Act in relation to incoporated Religious Societies," and shall hold their first meeting for the election of officers by the persons named in this act, or a majority of them, giving ten days notice in writing, posted up in three public places in said township, of the time and place of holding the same.

To incorporate the First Baptist Church and Society of Maumee.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ohio, That Salmon Johnson, Jeremiah Peck, Daniel Cook, Caleb S. Henderson and Samuel Divine, and their associates, are created a body corporate and politic, by the name of the First Baptist Church and Society of Maumee, agreeably to an act passed March the 5th, 1836, entitled "An act in relation to incorporated religious Societies;" and shall hold their first meeting for the election of their officers, by the persons named in this act giving ten days notice in writing, posted up in three public places, of the time and place of holding the same.

To incorporate the First Presbyterian Church of Johnstown, in Licking County.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ohio, That Abraham L. Whitehead and Henry S. Due, and their associates, are created a body politic and corporate, by the name of the "First Presbyterian Church of Johnstown," agreeably to an act passed March the 5th, 1836,

entitled "An act in relation to incorporated religious societies;" and shall hold their first meeting for the election of their officers, by the persons named in this act, giving ten days notice in writing, posted up in three public places, of the time and place of holding the same.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ohio, That William Taylor, Wesley Whipple, Jonathan Bradley, and those who may be hereafter associated with them, be, and they are hereby created a body politic and corporate, by the name of the "First General Baptist Society of Russell," agreeably to an act passed March 5th, 1836, entitled "An act in relation to incorporated religious societies;" and shall hold their first meeting for the election of officers, by the persons named in this act, or a majority of them, giving ten days notice in writing, posted up in three public places, of the time and place of holding the same.

Kirkum, and William Winter, and those who may be hereafter associated with them, be, and they are hereby, created a body politic and corporate, by the name of the "First Congregational or Presbyterian Church and Society of Batavia," agreeably to an act passed March 5th, 1836, entitled "An act in relation to incorporated religious societies;" and shall hold their first meeting for the election of officers, by the persons named in this act, or a majority of thern, giving ten days notice in writing, posted up in three public places, of the time and place of holding the same.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ohio, That Henry Lybarger, Adam Lybarger, Samuel Stough, and Lewis Lahman, and those who may be hereafter associated with them, be, and they are hereby created a body politic and corporate, by the name of the "Mount L. L.-8.

Zion Lutheran Church of Harrison," agreeably to an act passed March 5th, 1836, entitled "An act in relation to incorporated religious societies," and shall hold their first meeting for the election of officers, by the persons named in this act, or a majority of them, giving ten days notice in writing, posted up in three public places, of the time and place of holding the same.

AN ACT

Speaker of the Senate.

To incorporate the First Presbyterian Church in the town of Coshocton.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ohio, That Samuel Lee, Jonathan Fisk, Abraham R. Marsh, Jacob Elliott and Abraham R. Hillyer, and their associates, be, and they are hereby created a body corporate and politic, by the name of the First Presbyterian Church of the town of Coshocton, in Coshocton county; and as such, shall be entitled to all the rights, privileges and immunities granted, and shall be subject to all the restrictions of an act, entitled "An act in relation to incorporated religious societies," passed March 5th, 1836.

Sec. 2. That said society shall give ten days notice, by posting up advertisements in three of the most public places in the vicinity of said Church, of their first meeting under this act.

AN ACT

Speaker of the Senate.

To incorporate the town of Adelphi, in the Counties of Ross and Pickaway.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ohio, That so much of the township of Colerain, in the county of Ross, as is included in the town plat of the town of Adelphi, and also so much of said town as lies in Pickaway county, be, and the same is hereby created a town corporate, and shall hereafter be known and distinguished by the name of the town of Adelphi.

Sec. 2. That, for the good government of said town, it shall be lawful for the inhabitants who have resided in said town for the space of six months next preceding any election to be held under this act, having qualifications of electors of members of the General Assembly, to meet at the usual place of holding elections in said town on the first Saturday of April next, and on the first Saturday of April annually thereafter, and then and
