The Conservateur, Bibliotheque, Nationale, Paris, has many original manuscripts in which the names of Bonay, Bonny, Bonney and Bonnay appear, and which would be worthy of examination by any one who reads the French language and has a few days in Paris for such purpose.

Document No. 3 refers to Phillippon de bonay, dated 1385, copied 1634.

Doc. No. 6 names Phon Bonay, also Phon Bonnay, daughter of Estienne, date, 1385.

Doc. p. 7 names Pierre de Bonney, date 1404.

Doc. 56 mentions land sold by Thos. Bonnay Aug. 12, 1623, in debourbonnais in la ville molins (now moulins). Doc. 57 refers to rent of same Aug. 12, 1623.

Doc's. 58 and 59 refers to exchange of land in 1624.
Doc. 60 is marriage contract of Claude.

Dossiers Bleus III, Doc. No. 1, mentions Estienne de Bouney, notary and secretary of the King and receiver general of his finances. He had:

1. Isabelle, wife of Rigault, clerk of the King at the cour des comptes.

2. Jeane, wife of Jean Pauliard.

3. Colombe, wife of Robert Desmouliens, notary and secretary of the Department of Seine and Yonne, in 1459. 4. Guillemete, wife of Guille Allegrin.

Manuscripts in Pieces, Originales, Vol. 413, title, Bonney. Doc. 2 is a parchment receipt for money by Estienne Bonney, date 1428.

Doc. 4 is the same with date 1438.

Doc. 5 is a parchment contract for land by Estienne Bonney, date 1485.

Doc. 6 is a parchment for yearly allowance to Claude Bonnay, abbe, from domain de Bourbonnais, date 1605, in which François Bonney is mentioned.

Doc's. 3 and 4 mentions the receipt of money by Antoine Bonny in 1722.

Doc. 2 mentions the receipt of money by Antoine Bonny at the marriage of son Thomas in 1722.

Collection Chérin Vol. 31 title Bounay of Bourbonnois Doc 15 shows Thomas de Bonnay, son of Anthoine de Bonnay who made contract of marriage July 13 1600 to Catherine de Dorne, had children Antoine baptised 25 July 1607 and Claude baptised 12 Aug. 1606.

Thos. and wife gave land 13 Dec. 1612.

Thos. made a contract Dec. 12 1616 also contract Aug 12 1623, also 1624

Thomas and wife are mentioned in a contract of marriage of son Antoine 28 June 1638.

Thomas is mentioned in "sentence obtained by Henry his grandson 31st March 1672"

Bishop and Duke of Laon peer of France president of the chambre des comples of the King, and general councellor of finance in Languedoc. that he had caused Etienne de Bonney receiver general of the aid of 46000 liv. tour granted to the Daulphin of Viennoys by the three estates of Languedoc assembled at Castres in October last, to resist the attack of an English army under the Earl of Hontiton recently landed in Guienne and Gascongue, to receive from Johan Evrant receiver of the said aid in the diocese of Carcassone, the sum of 1450 liv. tour. by the hands of the Viconte de Lommaigne as well for his own pay as that of * John Holland Earl of Huntingdon afterwards Duke of Exeter.

Notification of Guillaume [de Champeaux] Bishop and Duke of Laon, President of the Chamber of accounts and Governor of the finances of Charles VII. in Languedoc, that he had caused to be paid to Estiene de Bonney, Receiver General of the subsidy granted to the Daulphin de Viennois by the Three Estates of Languedoc at their sitting in the town of Castres by Girot Berthin Receiver of the said subsidy in the diocese of Lodeve, 1201 Toure for the payment of the soldiers to be employed on the frontiers of Guinenne against the English who were assembled there in great force under Lord Huntingdon. Dat. 10 Mar. 1439.

BONNEY-SUR LOIRE, a small village on the river Loire 110 miles south of Paris, in the Department of Loiret.

BONNAY, about 9 miles from Besancou in the Department of Doubs which department borders on Switzerland.

BONNAY, about 24 miles from Macon or about 40 miles. north of Lyons in the Department of Saone et Loire.

BONNAY, about 12 miles from d'Amiens or about half way between Calais and Paris in the Department of Somme.
