An Act to establish permanently the Seat of Government. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Tennes see, That the town of Nashville in the county of Davidson, shall be, and is hereby established as the Seat of the State Government of this State, in accordance with the second section of the schedule to the Constitution. An Act to incorporate the inhabitants of the town of Dandridge, in the county of Jefferson. SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee, That the town of Dandridge, in the coun Dandridge ty of Jefferson, and the inhabitants within the limits of the incorporated. same, as laid down in the plan of said town, are hereby con Power of Aldermen. stituted a body politic and corporate, by the name and style of the Mayor and Aldermen of the town of Dandridge, and shall have perpetual succession by this corporate name, may sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, grant, receive, purchase, and hold real, personal and mixed property, and dispose of the same for the use and benefit of said town, and may have and use a town seal SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That the corporation aforesaid shall Mayor and have full power and authority to enact such laws and ordinances as may be proper and necessary to preserve the health of the town, to prevent and remove nuisances, to establish night watches and patrols, to ascertain, when necessary, the boundaries and location of lots, streets, lanes and alleys, with the consent of the proprietors of the lo's and houses adjoining such streets, lanes and alleys, to provide for licensing and regula ug auctions, to restrain and prohibit gaming, to provide for licensing, taxing, regulating or restraining theatrical or her public amusements, and shows within the limits of said corporation, to pave and keep in repair the streets, and to pass all laws necessary for the same, to appoint a Recorder, Treasurer and Town Constable, to establish necessary inspections within the town, to erect and regulate markets, to provide for the establishment and regulation of a fire company or companies, and the sweeping of chimneys, to procure water for the use of the town, to impose and appropriate fines, penalties and forfeitures for a breach of their by-laws and ordinances, to lay and collect taxes for the purpose of carrying all necessary measures into operation for the benefit and advancement of the best interests of said town, to restrain and prohibit all tipling, either in houses, streets, alleys, or in any other place within the limi's and bounds of said corporation, to pass all laws and ordinances for the comfort, cleanliness and good government of the town, which may be necessary and proper to carry the intent and meaning of this act into effect, provided they are not incompatible with the Constitution and Laws of this State. SEC. 3.
