The Bible was given to man for the purpose of showing a great plan; and it records the facts or truths, intended for man to know, beginning with Genesis, and continuing through to the close of Revelation. This book endeavors to bring out in a clear, simplified, connected form, the main facts, so as to interest, and be within reach of the people who do not have the time or opportunity for research and profound study. In the first three periods chronologists do not agree as to the dates of events; thus, it is safe to assume the exact dates are not known. But this uncertainty does not alter the truth of the facts given. Beginning with the fourth period, or Israelite Kingdom, the dates recorded are taken from the ancient Jewish History.
