CHAPTER LXII.

An Act making appropriations for expenses of Samuel February 28,1966 Aiken and David. L. Buell in contested election case.

SECTION 1. Appropriations for expenses of Samuel Aiken and D. L. Buell.

1. Reimburses Samuel Aiken for money expended in contested election

case.

2. Reimburses D. L. Buell for similar expenditures.

2. When act to take effect.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Minnesota:

SECTION. 1. That the following sums of money be Appropriation and the same are hereby appropriated out of any for expenses of money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated: Aiken and Buell. 1st. To Samuel Aiken for the purpose of reimbursing said Aiken moneys by him expended in paying justices, witnesses, and other officers in case of Aiken 28. Buell, ninety-eight dollars.

2nd. To D. L. Buell, for the purpose of reimbursing said Buell moneys by him expended in paying justices, witnesses and other officers in case of Aiken vs. Buell, fifty-one dollars and fifty-six cents.

SEC. 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

Joint Resolution of the Legislature of the State of Min- February 28,1866 nesota in relation to a Light House on Lake Su

perior.

Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Minnesota :

Whereas, Beaver Bay, on Lake Superior, in the State of Minnesota, has a good harbor for the largest vessels on said Lake;

And whereas, The distance from Beaver Bay to the newly discovered gold fields and rich mineral lands at Lake Vermilion is only sixty miles over a country well adapted for the construction of a good stage road.

And whereas, The United States have reserved at Beaver Bay a tract of land for the construction of a Light House.

And Whereas, By an act of Congress, entitled "An Act making appropriations for Light Houses," etc., approved August 18th, 1856, the sum of six thousand dollars ($6000) was appropriated for a Light House at Beaver Bay, which money has never been used for that purpose:
