PREFACE. HESE volumes, containing all the laws of St. Vincent in force to 3rd day THESE of July, 1884, are printed under the authority of an Act of the Colony (No. 396 of 1875), intituled " An Act to grant a sum of money for compiling, "consolidating and printing the Laws of this Government," and an Ordinance (No. 3 of 1882), intituled "An Ordinance to repeal certain Acts and "to provide an authentic record of the Laws of the Colony of St. Vincent." By virtue of the Ordinance No. 3 of 1882, all laws, or parts of laws, which have been repealed; also indemnity laws, laws for the appropriation of public money, for the erection or completion of public works and buildings, and other laws of a like character which have had their effect, or have ceased to operate, are omitted in these volumes. These laws are, however, to be found in the Office of the Colonial Registrar, and a Table of such as are obsolete is prefixed to this publication. It should be mentioned that Act No. 17 of 1820, and Ordinance No. 6 of 1879, have become obsolete. The Patent Office referred to in the Act of 1820 and all the documents in the office were many years ago destroyed by fire. The "Company" mentioned in Ordinance No. 6 of 1879 has ceased to exist. I.
