SECTION 5. That the borough of Columbia, Lancaster county, shall be divided into two wards for all election purposes; that part of said borough lying north of Locust street, constituting the "upper ward," and the part lying south thereof, the "lower ward," which wards shall be separate election districts, and hold their elections at separate windows of the town hall, in said borough, the officers of election chosen on the third Friday of March, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-two, shall appoint similar officers for the additional district, hereby created, in the following manner, viz: the judge shall appoint an additional judge, and each inspector an additional inspector, who shall be legal voters of the ward for which they are appointed.

That it shall be the duty of the assesor of said borough Duties of asses to make out and post up separate lists of the voters of each of said wards, in the manner provided by law: Provided, That this act shall not be so construed so as to authorize the election of more justices of the peace than are provided for in the act of incorporation of said borough. SECTION 8. That the sixth section of the act approved March sixth, one thousand eight hundred and forty-eight, entitled "An Act relating to certain streets and roads in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Lancaster, and Chester counties, be, and the same is hereby extended to the township of Thornbury, in the county of Chester.

SECTION 9. That the provisions of the act regulating boroughs, passed the third day of April, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-one, be, and they are hereby extended to the borough of Waynesboro', in the county of Franklin, as fully and effectually as though said borough had been incorporated after the passage of said act; and the said borough shall, from and after the first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-three, form a separate and independant school district, subject to all the provisions of the general school law.

AN ACT

To incorporate the Lutheran Congregation of Christ Church at Water Street,
Huntingdon county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the Lutheran congregation of the Evangelical Luthern church, at Water Corporation. Street, in the county of Huntingdon, be, and it is hereby erected into a body politic and corporate, in deed, and in law, by the name, style, and title of "The Trustees and Church Council of Christ Church," and by Style. the same name shall have perpetual succession, and be able to sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, in all courts of law, and elsewhere,

SECTION 3. That in the manner and at the times hereafter pointed, the members shall elect from their own body two persons, to serve as trustees, and also, two elders, and four deacons, which said two elders and deacons, with the pastor of the congregation, shall compose the church council.

That the whole number of trustees, elders, and deacons, Election of offishall be elected by the qualified members of the congregation, on the cers. first Saturday of June, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-two; onehalf of the persons of each office then elected, shall be elected to serve for one year, and the remaining half of each class for two years, and in like manner on the first Saturday in each and every year thereafter, one new trustee, one elder, and two deacons, shall be chosen to fill the places of those whose term of office shall have expired, so that the term of office of each trustee, elder, and deacon, shall be two years, and until the election of a successor; and so that one-half of the entire number

may be elected annually; the qualified members of the congregation may at any time increase or diminish the number of trustees and deacons to be chosen: Provided, That the same relative proportion as is now established be preserved and maintained.

SECTION 5. That if any vacancy by death or otherwise shall occur in any of the aforesaid offices, the vacancy may be temporarily supplied by the trustees and church council, until the next general meeting of the congregation, at which time an election shall be held to fill such vacancy during the unexpired portion of the term of the member creating the same.

SECTION 6. That the congregation may from time to time change the days for holding the aforesaid elections, and if by neglect or othermay be changed wise, it shall happen that no election be held on the regular day ap pointed for that purpose, the existing trustees and council may appoint any subsequent day, not more than three months thereafter, for holding such election.

SECTION 7. That all congregational elections shall be published by the church council to the congregation, two weeks before the election.

SECTION 8. That all matters connected with the doctrine, government, and discipline of the church, shall be conducted according to the acknowledged standards of the Evangelical Lutheran church in the United States.

AN ACT.

For the relief of Nancy Lord, Barbara Serena, Catharine Styles, Magdalena
Fullom, Nancy Wilkins and Lucretia Lane, widows of old soldiers.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the State Treasurer, be, and he is hereby authorized and required to pay to Nancy Lord, of Crawford county, Barbara Serena, of Armstrong county, Magdalena Fullom, of Indiana county, Nancy Wilkins, of Jefferson county, Catharine Styles, of Berks county, and Lucretia Lane, of Beaver county, widows of soldiers of the Indian and Revolutionary wars, or to their order, an annuity of forty dollars during life, to each;

commencing on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and fifty two, to be paid semi-annually, on the first day of January and first day of July.

AN ACT.

Giving the assent of this Commonwealth to the act of the Legislature of New
Jersey, entitled "A further supplement to an act entitled An Act to regu-
late the fisheries in the river Delaware, and for other purposes,"" approved
March twelfth, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-two.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen tatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly Consent of the met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That State given to the assent of this Commonwealth, be, and the same is hereby given to certain act of the State of the provisions mentioned and contained in act of the Legislature of the New Jersey. State of New Jersey, passed the twelfth day of March, A. D., one thousand eight hundred and fifty-two, entitled "A further supplement to an act entitled 'An Act to regulate the fisheries in the river Delaware, and for other purposes,"" passed November twenty-sixth, eighteen hundred and eight, and the said act of the Legislature of the State of New Jersey is hereby adopted, ratified and confirmed by this Commonwealth; and the said act of the State of New Jersey shall be annexed to this act, and be published in the same manner as the laws usually are, and the Governor shall likewise cause an exemplified copy thereof to be deposited in the Secretary's office of this Commonwealth, and transmit an attested copy of this act to the Governor of the State of New Jersey.

STATE OF NEW JERSEY.

A further supplement to an act entitled "An Act to regulate the fisheries in the river Delaware and for other purposes," passed November twenty-sixth, eighteen hundred and eight.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey, That no person being an inhabitant of this State

or of the State of Pennsylvania, shall be subjected to the pains and penalties prescribed by law, for illegal fishing in the river Delaware, with a gilling seine or drift net, unless he shall so fish in some pool or fishing place, entered as such according to law: Provided, That any person so fishing, except as to the entering of the place fished by him as his fishery, shall in all other respects conform to the laws regulating fisheries in said river: And provided further, That nothing in this act shall be construed to impair the right of the owner of any shore upon said river, to the exclusive enjoyment of his fishery annexed thereto, apon entering the same as a fishery as aforesaid.

SECTION 2. And be it enacted, That so much of any law as limits the length of gilling seins or drift nets used in said river to sixty fathoms, shall be, and the same is hereby repealed.

SECTION 3. And be it enacted, That no section, proviso or part of this act shall be considered as valid or operative until the Legislature of Pennsylvania shall approve of the same, by enacting a similar section, proviso or act, in whole or in part, and that from and after the passing of such law, such parts hereof as shall be so enacted and approved, shall immediately go into full force and effect; and that the Governor of this State is hereby requested to transmit an attested copy of this act to the Governor of the State of Pennsylvania, requesting him to submit it to the Legislature of that State.
