Mr. Conte: For the record, what is the cost of the public television station run by Howard University, and how is the

operating budget supported?

Dr. Cheek: The total cost for operating WHMM-TV during the period July 1, 1983 to June 30, 1984 was $5,757,134. Direct Operating Budget support from the University allocated on July 1, 1983 totaled $3,989,472. The WHMM Operating Budget was further augmented by product and services sales and on-the-air membership drives which netted $137,246.
