La Sanction Royale déclarée par Proclamation de Son Excellence TRES GRACIEUX SOUVERAIN, qu'il pour Préambule 7 ،، mon Gaol for the District of Quebec :-May it therefore please Your Majesty, that it may be enacted, and be it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Assembly, of the Province of Lower Canada, constituted and assembled by virtue of and under the authority of an Act passed in the Parliament of Great Britain, intituled, "An Act to repeal certain parts of an Act passed in the fourteenth year of His Majesty's Reign, intituled, "An Act for making more effectual provision for the Government of the Province of Quebec, in North America ;" "and to make further provision for the Government of the said Province;" and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, that it shall be lawful for the Governor, Lieutenant Governor or Person administering the Government of the Province for the time being, to apply and pay by a Warrant or Warrants 1573 98 under his hand out of any unappropriated monies in the hands of the Receiver granted for the General of this Province, a Sum not exceeding Fifteen hundred and seventypairs of the three Pounds, nine shillings and eight pence, Currency, towards making such of the District Work and repairs as are necessary to be made in the Common Gaol for the District of Quebec. necessary re Common Goal of Quebec. £311 38 for Hydraulic works. £825 for altering the building, erected for a and convert stepping Mill ing the building into a Prison and House of Cor. rection. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, that the further Sum of Three hundred and eleven Pounds, three shillings and eight pence, Currency, expended and to be expended for certain necessary Hydraulic Works in the said Common Gaol, shall be charged against the unappropriated monies aforesaid. III. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, that a further sum not exceeding eight hundred and twenty-five pounds, currency, shall be taken and applied as aforesaid, from and out of the unappropriated monies aforesaid, towards altering the building adjacent to the said Common Gaol erected for a stepping Mill, and converting the said Building into a Prison and a House of Correction. IV. Et qu'il soit de plus statué par l'autorité susdite, qu'une autre somme n'excédant point huit cent vingt-cinq Livres courant, sera prise et employée comme susdit, sur et à même les susdits deniers non affectés pour changer la Bâtisse adjacente à la dite Prison Commune, érigée pour un Moulin Pédale, et con vertir la dite Bàtisse en une Prison et Maison de Correction. IV. MOST GRACIOUS SOVEREIGN, W 66 66 THEREAS it is expedient to appropriate a certain Sum of Money for the Encouragement of Agriculture; May it therefore please Your Majesty that it may be enacted, and be it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Assembly of the Province of Lower-Canada, constituted and assembled by virtue of and under the authority of an Act passed in the Parliament of Great-Britain, intituled, "An Act to repeal certain parts of an Act passed in the fourteenth year of His Majesty's Reign, intituled, "An Act for making more effectual provision for the Government of the Province of Quebec, in North America,” "and to make further provision for the Government of the said Province;" and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, that it shall be lawful for the Governor, Lieutenant Governor or person administering the Government of the Province for the time being, to advance and pay by Warrant or Warrants 1600 granted under his hand a Sum not exceeding Sixteen hundred Pounds current money of ragement of this Province, out of the unappropriated Monies in the hands of the Receiver General of the Province for the time being, for the Encouragement of Agricultural Improvement in this Province, for the present year, One thousand eight hundred and twenty six, which said sum shall from time to time be advanced and paid, as deemed necessary, to the Agricultural Societies for the Dis tricts of Quebec, Montreal, Three Rivers, and Gaspé, and in the following proportions to each, that is to say, for the uses of the Counties in those Districts respectively, videlicet: Agricultural Society of Quebec, Three hundred and fifty five Pounds, Currency; Agricultural Society of Montreal, Seven hundred and sixty Pounds, Currency; Agricultural Society of Three-Rivers, Eighty five Pounds, Currency; Agricultural Society of Gaspé, Fifty Pounds, Currency; and a further Sum not exceeding One hundred and fifty Pounds for the said Agricultu for the encou Agriculture. ral CAP XXXI.
