And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, that the due application of the sum to be charged in conformity to this Act, shall be accounted for to His Majesty, His Heirs and Successors, through the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury, for the time being, in such manner and form as His Majesty, His Heirs and Successors shall be pleased to direct. CAP. V. AN ACT for the more certain and expeditious distribution of the Printed W (22d. March, 1825.) III. Et qu'il soit de plus statué par l'autorité susdite, qu'il sera rendu compte de la due application de la somme à être chargée, ainsi qu'il est ordonné par cet Acte, à Sa Majesté, Ses Héritiers et Successeurs, par la voie des Lords Commis-, saires de la Trésorerie de Sa Majesté pour le temps d'alors, en telle manière et forme que Sa Majesté, Ses Héritiers et Successeurs l'ordonneront, CAP. Duty of the Marguilliers en copies shall have been left at the Parsonage Hou ses of the sever. al Parishes. 66 and assembled by virtue of and under the authority of an Act passed in the Parliament of Great Britain, intituled, "An Act to repeal certain parts of an "Act passed in the fourteenth year of His Majesty's Reign, intituled, “An Act I for making more effectual provision for the Government of the Province of Quebec in North America," and to make further provision for the Govern"ment of the said Province;" And it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, that from and after the passing of this Act, it shall be the duty of the Clerk of the Legislative Council, instead of transmitting the Printed Copies of the Laws passed in the Legislature of this Province, to the several officers having by Law a right to such Printed Copies, to transmit the same with the least possible delay to the Clerks of the Peace for the several Districts in this Province, whose duties it shall be respectively to transmit a sufficient number of the same, to the several Parsonage Houses in the Country Parishes throughout their respective Districts, and to cause Printed Copies of such Laws to be distributed among the Officers having a right to the same residing in the Cities or Towns wherein such Clerks of the Peace respectively reside, as well as to such Officers having a right to such Printed Copies of the Laws as reside in the several Townships with their respective Districts. II. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, that it shall be the charge, after the duty of the Churchwardens in office, (Marguilliers en charge) in each of the Country Parishes throughout the Province, on the first Sunday succeeding the day on which such Printed Copies shall have been left at the Parsonage House of their respective Parishes, to cause public notice to be given at the door of the Parish Church, at the issue of the forenoon Service, that such Printed Copies of the Laws have been left at the Parsonage House, where they may be obtained by the several Officers residing in the Parish, having a right to the same. Duty of the Se. cretary of the Province to trans mit a list of the Peace to the Clerk Justices of the and to the Clerks of the Peace. III. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, that it shall be the duty of the Secretary of the Province or of his Deputy annually within fifteen days after the close of each and every Session of the Legislature, to transmit to of the Council, the Clerk of the Legislative Council, and to the several Clerks of the Peace in the different Districts of this Province, a list of the several Justices of the Peace in and for the several Districts in this Province. And it shall in like manner be the duty of the Adjutant-General of Militia of the Province, annually, within the like period, to transmit to the Clerk of the Legislative Council, and to the several Clerks of the Peace aforesaid, a list of the Officers of Militia by Law entitled to printed copies of the Laws passed in the Legislature. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, that this Act shall be and remain in force until the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-eight, and no longer. CAP. VI. Et qu'il soit de plus statué par l'autorité susdite, qu'il sera du devoir des Marguilliers en charge dans chacune des Paroisses de Campagne dans la Province, de faire donner Avis Public, à la Porte de l'Eglise de la Paroisse, à l'issue du Service Divin du matin, le premier Dimanche après le jour où telles copies imprimées des Lois auront été laissées au Presbitère de leurs Paroisses respectives, que les dites copies imprimées des Lois ont été laissées au Presbitère, où les différens Officiers résidant dans la Paroisse qui y ont droit pourront les avoir. aux Greffiers de sera du devoir Le Secrétaire de la Province transmettra liste des Juges de Paix au Grether gislatif, et aux Paix. du Conseil Lé.
