AVAILING himself of a season of comparative leisure, the President left Washington City, on Saturday the 31st of May, with an intention of prosecuting the object of his tour, through the NORTHERN and EASTERN departments of the Union. His departure from the capital, was made in so unostentatious and private a manner, that most of the citizens were ignorant of that circumstance, until it was announced to them, by the daily Intelligencer, when he was already many miles on his journey.
