By his Doctrine, his Prayers, and his Life,
He liv'd the Blessing, and Ornament of his People,
for above the space of Fifty-two years;

And longing for Heaven, and for Heaven mature,
He departed this Life with Serenity and Joy,
or rather Acclamation and Triumph;
Bequeathing to his Church Lamentation and Woe,
And to his Followers a bright and shining Example.

His Remains were interr'd in the Old Dutch Church,
where they sleep in Expectation

of a glorious Resurrection.

May his Congregation pass from the Weakness of regretting him,
To the Contemplation of his Virtues ;

And rather adorn his Memory with deathless Praises
By imitating his Pattern,

and adopting his Excellencies.

WHEREAS by a Combination of malicious People, there has been the horridest Scene of Iniquity carried on against me, by putting my Body to Variety of Tortures, and afterwards confining me in my Room with two Men; one of them as wicked, I believe, as ever was on Earth, a Ship Carpenter, endeavoring to persuade the Publick at the same Time, that I was dying; at other Times, that I was distracted. As I have nothing but the Law to flee to for my Vindication, I hope, as soon as Time will permit, that the World will be fully convinced, that I never was out of my senses, but
