said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed : thou oughtest therefore to have put my 27 money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the 28 talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall 29 have abundance : but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofit- 30 able servant into outer darkness : there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, 31 Mat. xxv.31–46. and all the holy angels with him, then shall he

Mount Olivet. sit upon the throne of his glory: and before 32 him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: and he shall set the sheep on his right 33 hand, but the goats on the left.

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, 34 Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world : for I was 35 an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye

took me in :

Then shall the righteous 37 answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When 38 saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, 39 and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and

say 40 unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, De- 41 part from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was an hungred, and ye

he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as

ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment; but

the righteous into life eternal. "And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples, Ye Mat. xxvi. 1, 2. know that after two days is the feast of the passover, "and of unleavened bread, 3 and the Son Mount Olivet. of man is betrayed to be crucified.

1 Mat. xxvi, 1, 2. Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the Mat. xxvi. 3–5, palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, Mic. xiv 1, 2, and consulted that they might take Jesus by sub- Luke xxii. 2–6. tilty, and kill him. But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people ; for they feared the people.

Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them; 3and said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that tiine he sought opportunity how he might conveniently betray him "unto them in the absence of the multitude.

1 Now before the feast of the passover, when

Jesus knew that his hour was come that he John xiii. 1—17. should depart out of this world unto the Father,

having loved his own which were in the world, he loved 2 them unto the end. And supper being ended, the devil

having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's 3 son, to betray him; Jesus knowing that the Father had

given all things into his hands, and that he was come from 4 God, and went to God; he riseth from supper, and laid

aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. 5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to

wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel

wherewith he was girded. 6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto 7 him, Lord, dost thou wash

feet? Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; 8 but thou shalt know hereafter. Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash

feet. Jesus answered him, If 9 I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my

hands 10 and my head. Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every

whit: 11 and ye are clean, but not all. For he knew who should

betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.

Now I tell before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. And as they sat and did eat, when Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you ówhich eateth with me shall betray me. Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake. And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
