EXTRACT from the Bursar's Letter of Instructions to the Solicitor, dated 12th November, 1847 :— "I must observe, that the names of occupiers are given with great distrust of their accuracy; and that in the cases where the lots are stated to be under lease, they were supposed to be so, when given over to us by the Crown; but the Crown leases have expired, and the parties have continued their holding without any renewal.”—(Vide Solicitor's Book, p. 18.) |
