KNUTE NELSON Twelfth Governor of the State of Minnesota, was born at Vosse Elven, Norway, February 2, 1843, and is still living. He came to the United States when six years old; served in the Civil War; and afterward became a lawyer. Since 1871 his home has been upon a farm at Alexandria, Minn. He was governor from January 4, 1893, to January 31, 1895, and has since been a United States senator. |
