STATEMENT of Convictions, Acquittals, &c., had in the Courts of Oyer and Terminer and General Sessions of the Peace in and for the city and county of New York, in the years 1860 and 1861. Larceny from the person, and attempt to commit do. Of the four persons sentenced to the punishment of death, one was executed; a new trial was ordered for one, who was subsequently convicted of manslaughter; and two are now under sentence. Is composed of eight Judges, of whom four are elected by the people at large, for eight years, and four selected from the Justices of the Supreme Court having the shortest term to serve.
