SCULPTURE. 66-0000-0000oco J. GOUJON. 0.0006 PRIVATE COLLECTION.
We have already given, at n° 24, a Diana seated, accompanied by a stag , which is in sculpture ; it is likewise from the chisel of Jean Goujon; and if that is a representation of the celebrated Diana of Poitiers, it is very probable this one was made from recollection of the former; but that was beyond the natural sice, this is in bas-relief, of a very small dimension; the other decorated the château d'Anet, this was most likely done for another person, and since the revolution was found at a private individual's, who, without precisely making known the place from whence it came, let it appear that this sculpture. might have belonged to the château de Sceaux.
It is now in the cabinet of M. Alexander Lenoir.
