said Cumberland Bank; and that each return of the state of said Bank to be made pursuant to the first section of an act directing the mode and time of making returns, shall in addition to the several particulars required therein to be included, specify the names of all the Directors of said Bank; and if in taking the oath required by said first section, any Director or Cashier shall swear falsely and be thereof duly convicted, he shall suffer as for wilful and corrupt perjury.

CHAPTER CCCXXIII.

AN ACT granting to the Saco and Ossipee Log Navigating Company, a certain right in Limington Bridge.

SECT. 1. BE it enacted by the Senate and House

How recover- ington, as they may be particularly interested, may have their action of the case, against said company for money laid out and expended for the use of said company, and shall be entitled to recover the amount of costs, damages and expenses incurred in making said repairs, or in rebuilding said bridge, in whole or in part, before any court of competent jurisdiction to try the same: And the property of the several individuals, who now compose said company, together with such others as may hereafter join said company, shall be, and hereby is made liable, to be attached and sold on execution to satisfy any judgment, which said towns of Standish and Limington, or either, may recover against said company, by reason of any neglect contained in this act.

SECT. 2. Be it further enacted, That if any person or persons, shall stop or turn away any logs from for turning a- said bridge, to the damage of said company, and way logs, &c. without the consent of their agent or agents, he or they shall be liable to pay all damages that may arise to said company, in an action of the case, before any court of competent jurisdiction to try the same. SECT. 3. Be it further enacted, That all damages that may hereafter arise to said bridge, which shall Damages aris- be chargeable to said company, shall be assessed by said company, upon all the several saw mills, situated on Saco river, below Limington falls, owned in whole, or in part, by members of said corporation, and so far as they may be interested therein, in equal proportion, to each of the saws worked in said mills, and according to the value thereof, and the collector of said corporation, shall have power to collect the same of the several owners of said mills, by distraint and sale of the personal property of said owners, in like manner, and with the same restrictions, that collectors of towns have to collect taxes committed to them.

CHAPTER CCCXXIV.

AN ACT incorporating certain persons for the purpose of building a Bridge in the town of Calais.

SECT. 1. BE it enacted by the Senate and House

shall at all times, keep the said bridge in good and passable repair; and at the end of said term of fifty years, the said bridge shall be delivered over in good repair to, and for the use of this State: Provided, nevertheless, The Legislature may dissolve said corporation, whenever it shall appear, to their satisfaction, that the income arising from said toll, shall have fully compensated said corporation, for all monies they have expended in purchasing, repairing and taking care of said bridge, together with an interest thereon at the rate of ten per cent. per annum. The property and ownership of said bridge shall thereupon be vested in said State, and be at their disposal: Also, that at the place where the toll shall be collected, there shall be erected by the said corporation, and constantly exposed to open view, a board or sign, upon which shall be written the rates of toll, and all the tollable articles, in large or capital letters.

SECT. 4. Be it further enacted, That if the said erected within corporation shall neglect or refuse, for the space of two years, from the passing of this act, to build and complete said bridge, then this act shall be void.
