WESTBROOK.--SACO IRON WORKS COMPANY.

CHAPTER CCXCVII.

AN ACT to annex Daniel Shaw to the town of Westbrook.

BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives, in Legislature assembled, That Daniel Shaw, whose dwelling house and farm on which he now lives, is divided by the division line between the towns of Falmouth and Westbrook, in the County of Cumberland, together with his poll and such part of his said farm as now lies in the town of Falmouth, be, and hereby is set off and annexed to the town of Westbrook aforesaid : Provided however, That the said Shaw, and that portion of his land set off as aforesaid, shall be holden to pay all taxes legally assessed upon him in the town of Falmouth prior to the passing of this Act.

CHAPTER CCXCVIII.

AN ACT to incorporate the Saco Iron Works Company.

SECT. 1. BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives, in Legislature assembled, Persons incor- 'That Josiah Calef, George Odiorne, Thomas Odiporated. orne, and their associates and successors, shall be, and they are hereby constituied a Corporation by the name of the Saco Iron Works Company, for the purpose of manufacturing any iron, cast and other steel, and also cotton goods, upon Saco River, or any of the branches of the same. CHAPTER CCCII.

AN ACT to cede to the United States of America, the jurisdiction of certain lands.

SECT. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives, in Legislature assembled, That there be, and hereby is, ceded to the United States of America, the jurisdiction of a certain tract of land Tract ceded, situated at Owl's Head (so called) in the town of Thomaston. Thomaston, in the County of Lincoln, and State of Maine, containing seventeen acres and one quarter of an acre, bounded as follows, viz. Beginning at the northwest corner of Josiah W. Dodge's land, at said Owl's Head, thence running south, sixteen degrees west, thirty five rods, to the road on the bank; thence westerly by the road, one rod; thence Boundaries. north, sixteen degrees east, thirty eight rods; thence south, seventy four degrees east, one rod; thence north, sixteen degrees east, seventeen rods; thence north, forty five degrees east, eighty four rods, to the shore; thence by the shore, easterly and southerly, to the north east corner of said Dodge's land; thence north, fifty nine degrees west, twenty one rods, to the first mentioned bounds, for the purpose of erecting a Light House and Dwelling House thereon.

SECT. 4.
