Pursuant to a rule of the Board, made some years ago, only the difference between the appropriation and apportionment in each Archdeaconry is in fact paid to or received by the Treasurer, as the case may be. The sums actually paid to and received from the several Archdeaconries are as follows:

[merged small][merged small][merged small][ocr errors][ocr errors][merged small][ocr errors][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small][merged small]

This difference has not been fully met from the income of the Society and the apportionments (owing to causes not apparent when the estimates were made at the beginning of the year), and it has been necessary to borrow from outside sources in order to pay the appropriations in full.

DONATIONS.

The Board gratefully acknowledges contributions from "M. H. M.," Norwalk. Also special offerings from Pequot Chapel, New London, and Trinity College Chapel.

LEGACIES.

Notice has been received of a legacy of $500.00 under the will of the Rev. William E. Vibbert, D.D., late of New Haven, deceased, which is given unconditionally.

ADDITIONS TO PROPERTY.

During the year a deed of land at Willimantic has been received from the Trustees of Donations and Bequests, upon which the Board is now erecting a new Parish House, in connection with the Church at that place, at a cost of about $2,200.00. We have also contributed the sum of $1,000.00 towards a new Rectory at Rockville.

LIABILITIES.

The sum of $500.00 is still due to the Bishop on his loan to the Society, reported a year ago; and there is also outstanding a further obligation of $1,250.00, at five per cent., $1,000.00 of which went to the Rectory at Rockville, and $250.00 into the treasury for general use.

The following summary represents the apportionments to the various Archdeaconries, and the appropriations, together with the amount of the apportionments and the appropriations paid.
