7. The Association shall, at its first and at every annual meeting thereafter to be held at such time as is determined by the by-laws, elect by ballot one of its members to be President of the Association.

8. The affairs of the Association shall be managed by a Board of ten directors to be elected at the first and each annual meeting thereafter by a plurality of the votes of the members of the Association present at such meeting. The President of the Association shall ex-officio be a member of such Board of Directors. The directors shall continue in office for one year or until others shall be chosen to fill their places as may be provided by the by-laws of the Association.

9. The directors shall appoint a Secretary and a Treasurer and shall by by-law determine the compensation and tenure of such office of Secretary and Treasurer respectively. Such Secretary and Treasurer shall not be required to be members of the Association:

10. The directors shall have full power to make all by-laws, rules and regulations not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act or the laws of the Province for the management of the Association. No such by-law shall come into effect until it has been approved by the Governor-in-Council.

12. 17. (1) The Association is hereby authorized to borrow from time to time on the credit of the Association such sums of money as may be required, for the purchase and improvement of land, and for the erection, alteration and repairs of suitable buildings thereon for exhibition purposes.

(2) For the purpose of effecting any loans under the authority of this Act, the Association is empowered to make and issue, from time to time, its bonds or debentures upon such terms and conditions and bearing such rate of interest and redeemable within such period as the Association determines. Such bonds or debentures shall be under the seal of the Association and executed by its proper officers.

18. The Association may charge such admission medals, etc.; fees as may be deemed proper to receive for exhibiting everything contemplated by this Act and may charge such entrance fees and award, give and pay to exhibitors such prizes, medals and honorary distinctions as may be deemed proper, and let or lease stalls, stands, rooms and places in any of its buildings or structures or in any part of its grounds or property, upon such terms and conditions and for such purposes as the Board of Directors may deem best for interests of the Asociation.

19. 20. (1) Forthwith after the passing of this Act Corporations, the said provisional directors shall notify in writing fied to appoint the several corporations, organizations, and associat- tives, etc. ions specially mentioned in Section 2 of this Act, requesting them to name and appoint representatives to the said Association pursuant to the provisions of this Act, and such notice shall contain a statement of the time and place of holding the first meeting of the members of the Association for the election of directors and such other business as may be required to be done at such meeting.

(2) At said meeting each member of the As- Representasociation being a representative shall produce to the duce certifisaid provisional directors a certificate in the manner above provided of his due and proper appointment, and shall pay the membership fee above mentioned, and the said provisional directors shall thereupon place on the table a list of all duly qualified members of the Association, and only the persons whose names appear on such list shall be eligible as directors or entitled to be present or vote at such meeting.

21. This Act shall come into force and take effect Act in force by proclamation. on, from and after a day to be declared in a proclamation by the Governor-in-Council, and on, from and after such day "The Provincial Exhibition Act" Revised Statutes, 1900, shall be and be deemed to be repealed.

CHAPTER 7.

Title.

An Act Respecting Inside Electrical Installations.

(Passed the 23rd day of April, A. D., 1923).

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as "The Inside Electrical Installation Act."

Interpretation. 2. In this Act and in any regulations made or approved thereunder, unless the context otherwise requires, the expression

(a) “Public Utility" means and includes any corporation, commission, company, person, association of persons, whatsoever, their lessees, trustees, liquidators or receivers, that own or hereafter own or may own, operate, manage or control or may be incorporated for the purpose of owning, operating, managing or controlling any plant or equipment for the production, transmission, delivery or furnishing of heat, light or power either directly or indirectly to or for the public;

(b) "Consumer" means any corporation, commission, company, person, association of persons, whatsoever, their lessees, trustees, liquidators or receivers utilizing electrical power or energy directly for heat, light or power purposes;

(c) "Electrical Installation" means the wires, machinery, apparatus, appliances, devices, material and equipment used in or on a building by a consumer for the receipt, distribution and use of electrical power or energy.

3.
