of printing the same, have Resolved, as a recommendation to the Government, that 2000 copies of the Consolidated Statutes of Canada, and 2000 copies of the Consolidated Statutes of Upper Canada, in English, be printed and bound by Mr. Lovell, according to his tender, it being the cheapest; the said volumes to be distributed by the Government to the several Clerks of the Peace, for sale at cost price.

The Honorable Mr. de Blaquière presented to the House a Bill intituled "An Act to "enable the Rector and Church Wardens of the church of St. Paul at Woodstock, to sell "and convey certain lands belonging to the said church."

The said Bill was read for the first time.

On motion of the Honorable Mr. de Blaquière, seconded by the Honorable Mr. Alexander, it was

Ordered, That the forty-ninth Rule of this House be dispensed with, in so far as it relates to the said Bill, and that the same be read a second time on Friday next.

The Honorable Mr. Patton presented to the House a bill intituled, "An Act to define "the liability of persons practising as Conveyancers."

The said Bill was read for the first time.

Ordered, That the said Bill be read a second time on Thursday next.

The Order of the Day being read for the second reading of the Bill intituled, "An Act "for the better protection of Game in Upper Canada,"

The Honorable Mr. Prince moved, seconded by the Honorable Mr. Moore,

That the said Bill be now read a second time.

After debate,

The question of concurrence being put thereon, the same was resolved in the affirmative, and

The said Bill was then read a second time accordingly.

Ordered, That the said Bill be referred to a Select Committee, composed of the Honorable Messrs. Prince, Panet, Boulton, Moore, Simpson, Allan and Campbell, to meet and adjourn as they please.

The Order of the Day being read for the second reading of the Bill intituled, "An Act "to facilitate in Lower Canada the Registration of Titles to real estate, and the entry of "certificates of discharge executed before witnesses,"

On motion of the Honorable Mr. Moore, seconded by the Honorable Mr. Perry, it was Ordered, That the same be postponed until Friday next.

The House, according to Order, proceeded to the consideration of the amendments proposed by the Select Committee, to the Bill intituled, "An Act to make further provision for the safety of Passengers by Steamboats," and

The said amendments being again read by the Clerk, and the question of concurrence put on each, they were severally agreed to.

The Honorable Mr. Prince moved, seconded by the Honorable Mr. Armstrong,

That the said Bill, with the amendments, be printed and read a third time to-morrow. After Debate,

The question of concurrence being put thereon, the same was resolved the affirmative, and Ordered, accordingly.

The Honorable Mr. de La Terrière presented to the House a Bill, intituled "An Act to provide for the appointment of Commissioners to enquire into the affairs of the Saint Rock's Savings Bank, Quebec."

The said Bill was read for the first time.

On motion of the Honorable Mr. de Blaquiére, seconded by the Honorable Mr. Knowlton,

Ordered, That the Petition presented to this House yesterday from the Council of the University of Toronto, be referred to the Joint Committee of both Houses, on the subject of the Legislative Printing, with a view to its being printed for the use of Members.

Pursuant to the Order of the Day, the Bill intituled "An Act to make further provision for the safety of Passengers by Steamboats," was read a third time.

The question was put whether this Bill shall pass.

It was resolved in the affirmative.

Ordered, That the Clerk do go down to the Legislative Assembly and acquaint that House, that the Legislative Council have passed this Bill, to which they desire their con

currence.

The Honorable Mr. Morris reported from the said Committee that they had gone through the said Bill, and had directed him to report the same to the House without any amendment.

A Message was brought from the Legislative Assembly by the Honorable Mr. Attorney General Cartier, and others, in the following words :

LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY,

Tuesday, 27th March, 1860.

Resolved, That a Message be sent to the Honorable the Legislative Council informing their Honors that this House will give effect to their Rule No. 26 which sets apart a place for the Legislative Councillors desirous of hearing the Debates of this House. Ordered, That the Honorable Mr. Attorney General Cartier do carry the said Message to the Legislative Council.

And then they withdrew.
