RESOLUTIONS.

RESOLUTION

Relative to the printing of the Laws, Journals and Public Documents of this General Assembly.

Resolved, by the Senate and House of Representatives, That the speakers of the two houses of the general assembly be, and are hereby authorized, on behalf of the state of Ohio, to enter into a contract with Mr. Charles Scott, of the city of Columbus, for executing the printing of this session of the general assembly, including the laws, journals and public documents of the session, at not exceeding the following terms, to wit: For printing the local and general laws-composition, forty cents per one thousand ems; presswork, forty cents per token. For all other printing-composition, thirty-five cents per one thousand ems; press work, thirtyfive cents per token; the printer to be governed, as to the manner and form of executing the printing and making up the accounts therefor, by the terms of the act to provide for the state printing, passed March second, one thousand eight hundred and forty-five; and that they take bond payable to the state of Ohio, with good security, from said contractor, in the sum of ten thousand dollars, for the faithful execution of such contract.

RESOLUTION

Directing the Secretary of State to furnish a seal to the Clerk of Muskingum county.

Resolved, by the General Assembly of the State of Ohio, That the secretary of state be directed to provide and transmit to the clerk of the court of common pleas of Muskingum county, a new seal, for the use of his office.

JOINT RESOLUTION

Directing the Superintendent of the Lunatic Asylum to consider the application of John Baxter for admission into said Asylum.

Resolved, by the General Assembly of the State of Ohio, That the superintendent of the Lunatic Asylum be directed to receive and consider the application in behalf of John Baxter, a resident of Ashtabula county, an unnaturalized foreigner, for admission into the institution under his charge, and to act, in the premises, as though said Baxter were a citizen of this state.

PREAMBLE AND JOINT RESOLUTION

Directing the Superintendent of the Lunatic Asylum to consider the application in behalf of Henry Wintrode for admission into said Asylum.

WHEREAS, Henry Wintrode, of the county of Stark, in the state of Ohio, emigrated to the state of Indiana, and thereby lost his right and privileges as a citizen of this state; and whereas, he has since returned, and has been a resident of this state about ten months, and has become insane; and whereas, the friends of the said Wintrode are anxious to obtain for him admission to the Asylum for the Insane; therefore,

Resolved, by the General Assembly of the State of Ohio, That the superintendent of the Lunatic Asylum be directed to receive and consider the application in behalf of the aforesaid Henry Wintrode, in the same manner as though he were, at this time, a citizen of this state.

RESOLUTION

Relating to the postage of Members and Clerks.

Resolved, by the Senate and House of Representatives, That the speakers of the two houses be, and they are hereby authorized and required to audit and allow for payment, out of the state treasury, the postage accounts of members and the clerks of both houses of the present general assembly, on all letters and papers, on public business, by them received, and on all letters and such public documents ordered to be printed which members may deem proper to mark paid.

Appointing Gilberthorp Earl, Thomas Blackburn, William Dunbar, Arnold Lynch, and Arvine Wales, Trustees of the Charity School of Kendall, in Stark county.

Resolved, by the General Assembly of the State of Ohio, That Gilberthorp Earl, Thomas Blackburn, William Dunbar, Arnold Lynch, and Arvin Wales, of Stark county, be, and they are hereby appointed trustees of the Charity School of Kendall, Stark county, whose term of service expires on the twenty-fourth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and fortysix.

RESOLUTION

Directing the Secretary of State to forward School Laws to Washington county.

Resolved, by the General Assembly of the State of Ohio, That the secretary of state be, and he is hereby directed to forward to the auditor of Washington county, along with the laws and journals to be distributed, twenty additional copies of the school laws, for the use of the school districts in said county.

RESOLUTION

Authorizing the Auditor of State to relinquish the taxes assessed upon all moneys loaned to the town of Zanesville, belonging to the McIntyre School Fund.

Resolved, by the General Assembly of the State of Ohio, That the state auditor be, and he hereby is authorized to direct the remission of any taxes which he may be satisfied have been assessed upon so much of the money loaned to the town of Zanesville, by the Zanesville canal and manufacturing company, as belongs to the McIntyre school fund: Provided, that nothing herein contained shall be so construed as to exempt from taxation any portion of the fund, the interest of which is paid to the widow of John McIntyre, deceased, or applied to any purpose except the support of the McIntyre school.

RESOLUTION

Directing the Secretary of State to issue a Circular to the Sheriffs of the several counties of this State, requiring said officers to forward copies of their Jail Reports.

Resolved, by the Senate and House of Representatives, That the secretary of state be directed to send a circular to the sheriffs of each county in the state, requiring him to forward a copy of his jail report, without unnecessary delay, and that the said circular be accompanied with printed blank forms for the use of such sheriffs.

JOINT RESOLUTION

Directing the printing of extra copies of the Reports of the Auditor of State, and Board of Public Works.

Resolved, by the Senate and House of Representatives, That the clerks of the two houses are hereby authorized to procure to be printed for the use of the general assembly of the state of Ohio, fifteen hundred copies of the auditor's report, and two hundred additional copies thereof for the use

of the auditor of state; and that the auditor of state be directed to transmit one copy to each of the principal financial officers of the several states, and one copy to each county auditor in the state; also, fifteen hundred copies of the report of the board of public works, and one hundred additional copies of said report for the use of the members of said board. RESOLUTION

Relating to publishing fifteen hundred copies of certain executive correspondence in the German language.

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Ohio, That fifteen hundred copies of the correspondence between the governors of Ohio and Virginia, be published in the German language, under the supervision of the clerks of the two houses.

RESOLUTION

Relating to the printing of extra copies of the Annual Report of officers of the Lunatic Asylum, and officers of the Blind Asylum.

Resolved, by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Ohio, That five thousand copies of the annual report of the directors and superintendent of the Ohio Lunatic Asylum in the English language, and one thousand in the German language, be printed for the use of the general assembly, under the direction of the respective clerks of both houses; also, one thousand additional copies in the English language, and fifty copies in the German language, shall be printed and placed at the disposal of the officers of said asylums; also, three thousand copies in English, and five hundred copies in German, of the report of the superintendent of the Institution for the Blind, one thousand copies of which shall be for the use of the superintendent.
