PETER, POWERS & COOPER.

Vegetable Purifying Syrun of loded Horse-Radish,

PREPARED COLD, BY
GRIMAULT & CO.,

For persons who cannot take Cod Liver Oil. This syrup is recommended by all the most eminent physicians, instead of Cod Liver Oil, and the prospectus accompanying it contains certificates from the principal physicians of the Paris Hospitals, attesting its efficacy. Dr. Cazenave, of the Hospital St. Louis, especially recommends it in affections of the skin, and considers it as the most powerful of depuratives. Each spoonful contains one grain of iodide, mixed with juice of horse-radish, in scurvey grass and water cress.

LERA'S PHOSPHATE OF IRON.

This new preparation differs from all others, being liquid, colorless, and entirely free from the taste or smell of iron. It promptly cures chlorosis, stomach complaints, impaired digestion, dysmenorroha, and anæmia. It is an excellent substitute for carbonate of iron, iron reduced by hydrogen, Vallet's pills, lactate of iron, pills of potassia-tartrate of iron, and those of iodide of iron, commonly known as Blancard's pills. It is the only preparation of iron which never causes constipation. GRIMAULT'S AMYLACEOUS PEPSINE,

Prepared according to Dr. Corvisart's process, is pronounced, by all who employ it, the best keeping, and the most powerful; it is 30-100 stronger than the other Amylaceous Pepsine. Also, PURE PEPSINE IN PASTE; PEPSINE PILLS of two grains each; PEPSINE LOZENGES with one grain each; WINE OF PEPSINE. PEPSINE ELIXIR-A new discovery by Dr. Dorvisart, physician to the Emperor of the French. This medicine is always successful in cases of indigestion, gastritis, loss of appetite, and inflammation of the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines.

GUARANA

SYRUP OF HYPOPHOSOHITE OF LIME, Introduced by Dr. Churchill. Well-known medicines for diseases of the lungs and throat. Is a medicine composed entirely of the dried resinous juice and seeds of a plant, botannically called Paullina Sorbilis, which is carefully collected at the proper season by the Guaranis or local inhabitants of the native region of the plant, Guarana, in Uruguay. It is infallible in cases of hemicrania, head-ache, and neuralgia. To these properties, it joins that of immediately arresting diarrhoea and dysentery, however severe. Our Guarana is prepared in a simple and agreeable powder ELIXIR OF SYRUP OF RED PERUVIAN BARK AND IRON. This new combination unites in a small volume and an agreeable form two elements which have never before been blended: Red Peruvian Bark, the best of tonics; and Iron, which forms the base of our blood. It is most beneficial in chlorosis, stomach complaints, loss of appetite, indigestion, and dysmenorrhoea. It is especially suitable for lymphatic or delicate persons, and is a preferable remedy in all cases for which Bark wines and preparations of Iron are usually prescribed.

INDIAN CIGARETTES,

Made of Cannabis Indica. Asthma and all complaints of the respiratory organs are promptly cured or relived by their smoke. The efficacy of this plant has been proved by extensive use in England and Germany, to the entire rejection of the cigarettes of belladona, stramonium, and other plants hitherto employed.

INJECTION MATICO.

Piper Augustifolim, or "Arthanthe Elongata" of Peru and Bolivia, is the substance which, distilled in water in the proportion of two of leaves to one and a half of water, constitutes this powerful astringent.

Drs. Ricord, Favrot, Puche, of the Hospital du Midi, are exclusively employing this injection in all kinds of discharges, as well as in the most inveterate cases; it never causes stricture or obstruction of the urethal canal.

CAPSULES MATICO

are employed, internally, at the same time as the injection; they play the most important part as remedial agents for urethral discharges, both in male and female orgapisms. They are compounded of one part of Essential Oil of Matico and two parts of the best Balsam Copaiba; each capsule of gluten contains eight grains of Copaiba and four grains of Martico's Essential Oil. The formulæ are the original of Dorvault, first importer and vulgarisator of the "Adanthe Elongata."

Also, VAGINAL CAPSULES OF MATICO.
