We conscientiously recommend to the consideration of physicians, HYGIENIC WINE It would be useless to expatiate to the profession upon the excellent uses to which WINE is applied. To quote from the valuable writings of Professors Wood and Bache, of Philadelphia, "Wine is an important medicine, productive of the best effects in certain diseases and states of the system. In the convalescence from protracted fever, and in sinking of the vital powers, it is the BEST REMEDY that can be employed. In certain stages of fevers, especially when CONJOINED WITH BARK, etc., it is often our main dependence." Hygienic Wine is prepared in Paris by an eminent chemist, from a fine, PURE sherry. The tonic principles which are scientifically infused into the wine are well known. It has the approval of the Pharmaceutical School of France, and is in constant use by physicians in Europe. It has also been examined and approved by the prominent physicians of New York, and throughout the country, and is considered by those who have examined it, the MOST VALUABLE article of its kink at present in use. A tonic of this nature, having no admixture of ALCOHOL or whisky, not intoxicating, and RELIABLY PURE, has been much needed for the physician's purpose. It is UNQUESTIONABLY THE FINEST AND CHEAPEST PURE WINE TONIC in the country. Sold by Druggists generally. HYGIENIC WINE COMPANY, 31 and 33 Broadway, New York, Importers. The Profession has long felt the need of some preparation with tonic and stimulant properties, and, while acknowledged as a blood purifier, to have a tendency to some internal organ and each constituent to act as a specific for certain local affections. This want is supplied by IRISIN, THE COMPOUND FLUID EXTRACT OF IRIS VERSICOLOR, Made by maceration and displacement with percolators of a new and improved pattern. Its composition is: IRIS VERSICOLOR, (Blue Flag,) STILLINGIA SYLVATICA, (Queen's Delight.) PHYTOLACCA DECANDRA, (Garget,) CORYDALIS FORMOSA, (Turkey Corn,) IODIDE OF POTASSIUM, three-fourths of a grain to a drachm of the mixture. Though comparatively a new article, as an evidence of the esteem in which it is already held we append the following certificate, selected from the many received from Druggists, Physicians and Patients: Messrs. Coleman & Rogers: BALTIMORE, February 8th, 1869. Dear Rogers-I owe you many thanks for calling my attention to the IRISIN. When, at your instance, I was induced to try it, my condition was such as to excite very great anxiety as to the ultimate result of my case. For six or eight weeks I had been suffering from Hepatic Obstruction, (the result of long residence in a malarious district,) attended with violent spasms in the region of the gall ducts, recurring almost daily, and obstinately resisting all the remedies with which my professional experience had rendered me familiar. My strength was gradually declining, and I was steadily emaciating, having lost twenty pounds in weight during the progress of my sickness; in addition to this I was decidedly jaundiced. Under these circumstances I commenced the use of the Irisin. Its action was prompt and delightful. I had no recurrence of pain after the first dose, the secretions were all speedily restored to a healthy condition, my jaundice removed, and a decidedly comfortable degree of health obtained; in two weeks I have regained ten pounds of my lost weight, and have, I think, a fair prospect of regaining the whole of it, as I am steadily improving. On the whole, I regard the Irisin as the most valuable alterative that I have ever used, and the accomplished author of the formula as justly entitled to the thanks of the community for placing within their reach an agent of such indubitable value. Very respectfully, &c., FORMULA OF R. MACKALL, M. D. DR. JOHN WILKINS, BALTIMORE, Md.
