CHAP. 57.

An Act to amend the Act passed by the Parliament of the late Province of Canada, intituled "An Act to incorporate the Montreal Board of Trade."

[Assented to 8th April, 1875.]

HEREAS it is expedient to amend the Act passed by Preamble. the Parliament of the late Province of Canada, in the

Session held in the fourth and fifth years of Her Majesty's reign, intituled "An Act to incorporate the Montreal Board of 4-5 V., c. 90. Trade" Therefore Her Majesty, by and with the advice

and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

1. The sixth, eighth, ninth and tenth sections of the said Certain Act intituled "An Act to incorporate the Montreal Board sections of Trade' are hereby repealed, except only as respects all repealed. rights acquired and things done under the said sections or any of them, before the coming into force of this Act.

2. The members of the said corporation shall meet an- Annual nually at some place within the City of Montreal (of which meeting of Corporation. due notice shall be given by the Council for the time being as hereinafter provided) on the second Tuesday, in the month of January of each year, and if the same be not a juridical day, then on the next following juridical day; and the members of the said corporation or a majority of them then present shall at the next annual meeting, after the coming into force of this Act, choose by separate ballot, or in such other way as may have been or may be fixed by the by-laws of the corporation from among the members thereof, one President, one Vice-President, one Treasurer and Election of twelve other persons, who, with the said President, Vice- officers and President and Treasurer, shall form the Council of the said Council. corporation, until the next annual meeting, when six of the ordinary members of the said Council standing lowest on the Subsequent 1 said elections.
