REPORT OF THE TREASURER. THE Treasurer has the honor to report that, owing to a surplus remaining from last year, the Committee of Publication has been able to issue a volume of Transactions, although each volume cost more than the subscription price paid by members. This year a much smaller surplus remains, and if the material for a large volume with expensive plates is sent to the Committee, the treasury will not afford means for its publication. Besides printing an enormous volume, containing most expensive illustrations, the Association still continues to vote away yearly two hundred dollars for prize essays, thus depleting the treasury and adding to financial embarrassment.
