Ac etto nid ynt dri Arglwyddi: namyn un Arglwydd.

Canys fel y'n cymhellir trwy y Gristianogaidd wirionedd i gyfaddef bod pob Person o hono ei hun yn Dduw ac yn Arglwydd ; Felly yn gwaherddir trwy'r Gatholig Grefydd i ddywedyd, bod tri Duwiau, neu dri Arglwyddi.

YTadni wnaethpwyd gan neb: nis crewyd, ac nis cenhedlwyd.

Y Mab sydd o'r Tad yn unig: heb ei wneuthur, na'i greu; eithr wedi ei genhedlu.

[ocr errors]

Yr Yspryd Glân sydd o'r Tad a'r Mab heb ei wneuthur, na'i greu, na'i genhedlu; eithr yn deilliaw.

Wrth hynny, un Tad y sydd, nid tri Thad; un Mab, nid tri Mab un Yspryd Glân, nid tri o Ysprydion Glan.

Ac yn y Drindod hon, nid oes un cynt, neu gwedi eu gilydd: nid oes un mwy na llai nâ'u gilydd; Eithr yr holl dri Phersonau ydynt ogyd-tragywyddol : a gogyfuwch.

Ac felly ym mhob peth, fel y dywedwyd uchod: yr Undod yn y Drindod, a'r Drindod yn yr Undod sydd i'w haddoli.

Pwy bynnag gan hynny a fynno fod yn gadwedig: synied felly o'r Drindod.

er

Y mae hefyd yn angenrhaid, mwyn tragywyddol iachawdwriaeth gredu o ddyn yn ffyddlawn am gnawdoliaeth ein Harglwydd Iesu Grist.

And yet they are not three Almighties but one Almighty. So the Father is God, the Son is God and the Holy Ghost is God.

And yet they are not three Gods: but one God.

So likewise the Father is Lord, the Son Lord and the Holy Ghost Lord.

And yet not three Lords: but one Lord.

For like as we are compelled by the Christian_verity to acknowledge every Person by himself to be God and Lord;

So are we forbidden by the Catholick Religion: to say, There be three Gods, or three Lords.

The Father is made of none: neither created, nor begotten.

The Son is of the Father alone: not made, nor created, but begotten.

The Holy Ghost is of the Father and of the Son : neither made, nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding.

So there is one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons: one Holy Ghost, not three Holy Ghosts.

And in this Trinity none is afore, or after other: none is greater, or less than another;

But the whole three Persons are co-eternal together and coequal.

So that in all things, as is aforesaid: the Unity in Trinity, and the Trinity in Unity is to be worshipped.

He therefore that will be saved: must thus think of the Trinity.

Furthermore, it is necessary to everlasting salvation that he also believe rightly the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Canys yr iawn ffydd yw, credu a chyffesu o honom: fod ein Harglwydd ni Iesu Grist, Fab Duw, yn Dduw ac yn Ddyn; Duw, o Sylwedd y Tad, gwedi ei genhedlu cyn nâ'r oesoedd: a Dyn, o Sylwedd ei fam, gwedi ei eni yn y byd; Perffaith Dduw, a pherffaith Ddyn o enaid rhesymmol, a dynol gnawd yn hanfod; Gogyfuwch â'r Tad, oblegid ei Dduwdod: a llai nâ'r Tad, oblegid ei Ddyndod.

Yr hwn er ei fod yn Dduw ac yn Ddyn: er hynny nid yw efe ddau, ond un Crist.

Un; nid drwy ymchwelyd y Duwdod yn gnawd: ond gan gymmeryd y Dyndod at Dduw; Un i gyd oll; nid gan gymmysgu y Sylwedd ond drwy andod Person.

Canys fel y mae yr enaid rhesymmol a'r cnawd yn un dyn: felly Duw a Dyn sydd un Crist:

Yr hwn a ddïoddefodd dros ein iachawdwriaeth a ddisgynodd i uffern, a gyfododd y trydydd dydd o feirw.

Esgynodd i'r nefoedd, ac y mae yn eistedd ar ddeheulaw y Tad, Duw Hollalluog: oddiyno y daw i farnu byw a meirw.

Ac ar ei ddyfodiad y cyfyd pob dyn yn eu cyrph eu hunain: ac a roddant gyfrif am eu gweithredoedd prïod.

A'r rhai a wnaethant dda, a ånt i'r bywyd tragywyddol a'r rhai a wnaethant ddrwg, i'r tân tragywyddol.

Hon yw y Ffydd Gatholig: yr hon pwy bynnag a'r nis cretto yn ffyddlawn, ni all efe fod yn gadwedig.

Gogoniant i'r Tad, ac i'r Mab: ac i'r Yspryd Glân;

Megis yr oedd yn y dechreu, y mae yr awr hon, ac y bydd yn wastad: yn oes oesoedd. Amen.

For the right Faith is, that we believe and confess that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and Man;

God, of the Substance of the Father, begotten before the worlds: and Man, of the Substance of his Mother, born in the world;

Perfect God, and perfect Man: of a reasonable soul and human flesh subsisting;

Equal to the Father, as touching his Godhead: and inferior to the Father, as touching his Manhood.

Who although he be God and Man yet he is not two, but one Christ;

One; not by conversion of the Godhead into flesh but by taking of the Manhood into God;

One altogether; not by confusion of Substance: but by unity

of Person.

For as the reasonable soul and flesh is one man so God and Man is one Christ;

Who suffered for our salvation: descended into hell, rose again the third day from the dead.

He ascended into heaven, he sitteth on the right hand of the Father, God Almighty from whence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

At whose coming all men shall rise again with their bodies: and shall give account for their own works.

And they that have done good shall go into life everlasting: and they that have done evil into everlasting fire.

This is the Catholick Faith: which except a man believe faithfully, he cannot be saved. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen.
