BOREOL WEDDI.

Psal. xxx. Exaltabo te, Domine. AWRYGAF di, O Ar

like a calf: Libanus also, and Sirion, like a young unicorn.

7 The voice of the Lord divideth the flames of fire; the voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness: yea, the Lord shaketh the wilderness of Cades.

8 The voice of the Lord maketh the hinds to bring forth young, and discovereth the thick bushes: in his temple doth every man speak of his honour.

9 The Lord sitteth above the

water-flood and the Lord remaineth a King for ever.

10 The Lord shall give strength unto his people the Lord shall give his people the blessing of peace.

MORNING PRAYER. Psal. xxx. Exaltabo te, Domine.

Maglwydd: canys dyrchef- I for thou hast set me up:

aist fi, ac ni lawenheaist fy ngelynion o'm plegid.

2 Arglwydd fy Nuw, llefais arnat, a thithau a'm hiacheaist.

3 Arglwydd, dyrchefaist fy enaid o'r bedd: cedwaist fi yn fyw, rhag disgyn o honof i'r pwll.

4 Cenwch i'r Arglwydd, ei saint ef; a chlodforwch wrth goffadwriaeth ei sancteiddrwydd

ef.

and not made my foes to triumph over me.

2 O Lord my God, I cried unto thee: and thou hast healed me.

:

3 Thou, Lord, hast brought my soul out of hell thou hast kept my life from them that go down to the pit.

4 Sing praises unto the Lord, O ye saints of his and give thanks unto him for a remem

brance of his holiness.

5 For his wrath endureth but the twinkling of an eye, and in his pleasure is life heaviness may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

:

6 And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be removed : thou, Lord, of thy goodness hast made my hill so strong.

7 Thou didst turn thy face from me and I was troubled.

8 Arnat ti, Arglwydd, y llefais, ac ar Arglwydd yr ymbiliais.

9 Pa fudd sydd yn fy ngwaed, pan ddisgynwyf i'r ffos? a glodfora'r llwch di? a fynega efe dy wirionedd?

10 Clyw, Arglwydd, a thrugarhâ wrthyf: Arglwydd, bydd gynnorthwywr i mi.

11 Troaist fy ngalar yn llawenydd i mi: diosgaist fy sachwisg, a gwregysaist fi â llawenydd;

12 Fel y cano fy ngogoniant i ti, ac na thawo. O Arglwydd fy Nuw, yn dragywyddol y'th foliannaf.

Psal. xxxi. In te, Domine, speravi.

Y ddiriedais: na'm gwarad

NOT ti, Arglwydd, yr ym

wydder yn dragywydd: gwared fi yn dy gyfiawnder.

2 Gogwydda dy glust attaf; gwared fi ar frys: bydd i mi yn graig gadarn, yn dy ymddiffyn i'm cadw.

3 Canys fy nghraig a'm castell ydwyt: gan hynny er mwyn dy enw tywys fi, ac arwain fi.

4 Tyn fi allan o'r rhwyd a guddiasant i mi: canys ti yw fy nerth.

5 I'th law y gorchymmynaf fy yspryd: gwaredaist fi, O Arglwydd Dduw y gwirionedd.

6 Caseais y rhai sy'n dal ar ofer-wagedd: minnau a obeithiaf yn yr Arglwydd.

7 Ymlawenhâf ac ymhyfrydaf yn dy drugaredd: canys gwelaist fy adfyd; adnabuost fy enaid mewn cyfyngderau ;

8 Ac ni warchaeaist fi yn llaw y gelyn; ond gosodaist fy nhraed mewn ehangder.

9 Trugarhâ wrthyf, Arglwydd;

8 Then cried I unto thee, O Lord and gat me to my Lord right humbly.

What profit is there in my blood: when I go down to the pit? 10 Shall the dust give thanks unto thee or shall it declare thy truth?

[ocr errors]

11 Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me: Lord, be thou my helper.

12 Thou hast turned my heaviness into joy: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness.

13 Therefore shall every good man sing of thy praise without ceasing: O my God, I will give

thanks unto thee for ever.

Psal. xxxi. In te, Domine, speravi.

IN thee, O Lord, have I put

my trust let me never be put to confusion, deliver me in thy righteousness.

[ocr errors]

2 Bow down thine ear to me : make haste to deliver me.

3 And be thou my strong rock, and house of defence: that thou mayest save me.

4 For thou art my strong rock, and my castle: be thou also my guide, and lead me for thy Name's sake.

5 Draw me out of the net, that they have laid privily for me for thou art my strength.

6 Into thy hands I commend my spirit for thou hast redeemed me, O Lord, thou God

of truth.

7 I have hated them that hold of superstitious vanities: and my trust hath been in the Lord.

8 I will be glad, and rejoice in thy mercy for thou hast considered my trouble, and hast known my soul in adversities.

9 Thou hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: but hast set my feet in a large room.

10 Have mercy upon me, O

canys cyfyng yw arnaf: dadwinodd fy llygad gan ofid, ïe, fy enaid a'm bol.

10 Canys fy mywyd a ballodd gan ofid, a'm blynyddoedd gan ochain: fy nerth a ballodd o herwydd fy anwiredd, a'm hesgyrn a bydrasant.

11 Yn warthrudd yr ydwyf ym mysg fy holl elynion, a hynny yn ddirfawr ym mysg fy nghymmydogion; ac yn ddychryn i'r rhai a'm hadwaenant: y rhai a'm gwelent allan, a gilient oddiwrthyf.

12 Anghofiwyd fi fel un marw allan o feddwl: yr ydwyf fel llestr methedig.

13 Canys clywais ogan llaweroedd; dychryn oedd o bob parth: pan gyd-ymgynghorasant yn fy erbyn, y bwriadasant fy nïeneidio.

14 Ond mi a obeithiais ynot ti, Arglwydd: dywedais, Fy Nuw ydwyt.

15 Yn dy law di y mae fy amserau: gwared fi o law fy ngelynion, ac oddiwrth fy erlidwŷr.

16 Llewyrcha dy wyneb ar dy was: achub fi er mwyn dy drugaredd.

17 Arglwydd, na waradwydder fi; canys gelwais arnat: gwaradwydder yr annuwiolion, torrer hwynt i'r bedd.

18 Gosteger y gwefusau celwyddog, y rhai a ddywedant yn galed, trwy falchder a dïystyrwch, yn erbyn y cyfiawn.

19 Mor fawr yw dy ddaioni a roddaist i gadw i'r sawl a'th ofnant; ac a wnaethost i'r rhai a ymddiriedant ynot, ger bron meibion dynion!

Lord, for I am in trouble: and mine eye is consumed for very heaviness; yea, my soul and my body.

11 For my life is waxen old with heaviness; and my years with mourning.

12 My strength faileth me, because of mine iniquity: and my bones are consumed.

13 I became a reproof among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours: and they of mine acquaintance were afraid of me; and they that did see me without conveyed themselves from me.

14 I am clean forgotten, as a dead man out of mind: I am

become like a broken vessel.

15 For I have heard the blasphemy of the multitude and fear is on every side, while they conspire together against me, and take their counsel to take away my life.

16 But my hope hath been in thee, O Lord: I have said, Thou art my God.

17 My time is in thy hand; deliver me from the hand of mine enemies and from them that persecute me.

18 Shew thy servant the light of thy countenance and save me for thy mercy's sake.

19 Let me not be confounded, O Lord, for I have called upon thee: let the ungodly be put to confusion, and be put to silence in the grave.

:

20 Let the lying lips be put to silence which cruelly, disdainfully, and despitefully, speak against the righteous.

21 O how plentiful is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee: and that thou hast prepared for them that put their trust in thee, even before the sons of men!

20 Cuddi hwynt yn nirgelfa dy wyneb rhag balchder dynion: cuddi hwynt mewn pabell rhag cynnen tafodau.

21 Bendigedig fyddo'r Arglwydd: canys dangosodd yn rhyfedd ei garedigrwydd i mi mewn dinas gadarn.

22 Canys mi a ddywedais yn fy ffrwst, Fe'm bwriwyd allan o'th olwg: er hynny ti a wrandewaist lais fy ngweddïau pan lefais arnat.

23 Cerwch yr Arglwydd, ei holl saint ef yr Arglwydd a geidw'r ffyddlonniaid, ac a dâl yn ehelaeth i'r neb a wna falchder.

24 Ymwrolwch, ac efe a gryfhâ eich calon, chwychwi oll y rhai ydych yn gobeithio yn yr Arglwydd.

EVENING PRAYER. Psal. xxxii. Beati, quorum. OLESSED is he whose un

GW WYN ei fyd y neb y madd- Brighteousness is forgiven: euwyd ei drosedd, ac y cuddiwyd ei bechod.

2 Gwyn ei fyd y dyn ni chyfrif yr Arglwydd iddo anwiredd, ac ni bo dichell yn ei yspryd.

3 Tra y tewais, heneiddiodd fy esgyrn, gan fy rhuad ar hŷd y dydd.

4 Canys trymhâodd dy law arnaf ddydd a nos: fy irder a drowyd yn sychder haf.

5 Addefais fy mhechod wrthyt, a'm hanwiredd ni chuddiais: dywedais, Cyffesaf yn fy erbyn fy hun fy anwireddau i'r Arglwydd; a thi a faddeuaist anwiredd fy mhechod.

6 Am hyn y gweddïa pob duwiol arnat ti yn yr amser y'th geffir: yn ddïau yn llifeiriant

and whose sin is covered.

2 Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth no sin and in whose spirit there is no guile.

3 For while I held my tongue : my bones consumed away through my daily complaining.

4 For thy hand is heavy upon me day and night and my moisture is like the drought in

summer.

:

5 I will acknowledge my sin unto thee and mine unrighteousness have I not hid.

6 I said, I will confess my sins unto the Lord and so thou forgavest the wickedness of my sin.

7 For this shall every one that is godly make his prayer unto thee, in a time when thou may

dyfroedd mawrion, ni chânt nesâu atto ef.

7 Ti ydwyt loches i mi; cedwi f rhag ing amgylchyni fi à chaniadau ymwared.

8 Cyfarwyddaf di, a dysgaf di yn y ffordd yr elych: a'm llygad arnat y'th gynghoraf.

9 Na fyddwch fel march, neu ful, heb ddeall : yr hwn y mae rhaid attal ei ên â genfa, ac â ffrwyn, rhag ei ddynesâu at

tat.

10 Gofidiau lawer fydd i'r annuwiol: ond y neb a ymddiriedo yn yr Arglwydd, trugaredd a'i cylchyna ef.

11 Y rhai cyfiawn, byddwch lawen a hyfryd yn yr Arglwydd: a'r rhai uniawn o galon oll, cenwch yn llafar.

Psal. xxxiii. Exultate, justi.

8 Thou art a place to hide me in, thou shalt preserve me from trouble: thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.

9 I will inform thee, and teach thee in the way wherein thou shalt go and I will guide thee with mine eye.

10 Be ye not like to horse and mule, which have no understanding whose mouths must be held with bit and bridle, lest they fall upon thee.

11 Great plagues remain for the ungodly but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord, mercy embraceth him on every side.

12 Be glad, O ye righteous, and rejoice in the Lord and be joyful, all ye that are true of heart.

Psal. xxxiii. Exultate, justi.

3 Sing unto the Lord a new song: sing praises lustily unto him with a good courage.

5 He loveth righteousness and judgement: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made: and all the hosts of them by the breath
