A Description of Indian and Oriental ArmourAsian Educational Services, 2001 - 178 halaman A well illustrated book about the various arm and armour that have been use in the east. For want of a volume describing the subject, the author wrote this book. It starts with a sketch of the military history of India from the earliest invasions up to the first Burmese war of 1824. It then gives a descriptive catalogue of Indian Arms with introductory notes on styles of decoration, processes of manufacture and ethnological characteristics. Various areas are described in separate chapters. The descriptions are complimented with a map, 23 full page illustrations and numerous wood cuts. This book was first published in 1896. |
