ORDERD the Mayor Issue his Warrant to the Treasurer of this City to pay to Adolph Benson or Order Warr! Issued the Sum of £70:7:6 (out of the monies Raised by Virtue of an act Entituled an act for Regulating the upblick Roads in the City of New York and Collected and paid into his hands by the Church Wardens of this City) on acct of Repairing the said publick Roads by Virtue of the said act

ORDERD that Mr Recorder Alderman Des Brosses & Aldm Gautier together with Mess's Huggit, Van Varick and Van Waganen or the Major part of them be a Committee to take into their Consideration a Bill now before this Board to ascertain the Size Demensions and Quality of Staves, Heading, Hoops, Boards, Timber, Shingles and plank which Shall be brought to this City of New York for Sale and that they make Such alterations & amendments thereto, as they or the major part of them Shall judge proper and make Report thereof to this board with all Convenient Speed.

ORDERD that the Recorder, Alderman Filkin Aldm Gautier & Aldm Des Brosses together with Mess's Abeel, Van Varick & Jacob Brewerton, or the major part of them be a Committee to Conferr with the Petitioners for water Lotts fronting their Houses Lying to the Eastward of the Exchange between that & the Coenties markit and to Receive the proposalls of the said Petitioners on the Subject matter of their said Petition and make Report thereof to this Board with all Convenient Speed.

Mr Mayor Produced to this Board a List of the Names of Sundry persons who had taken out Lycences for Retailing of Strong liquors within this City from the 25th of March 1769 to the 25th of March 1770 amounting to 339 and who had paid for the same the sum of £507 129; ORDERD he pay the Same to the Treasurer or Chamberlain to this Corporation first Retaining thereout the Sum of £125 being what this Board agreed to allow him for his fees as Clerk of the markets from the 1st of May 1769 to the 1st of May 1770. Also the further sum of 4 and paying thereout to the Clerk of this Board the Sum of 5 for every Lycence so by him Granted as afd and that the Ballance (after the above deductions are made) to be paid into the Treasury amount to £230: 1:9

THE PETITION of Gerrard G: Beekman and Sundry others Residing Contiguous to Beekmans Slip was preferred to this Board and Read praying that the Prayer of A Petition Preferred the last Common [Council] for leave to Erect a Bridge aCross [25] said Beekmans Slip might not be Granted ORDERD by this Board that the Consideration of the said Petition of the said Gerrard G: Beekman & others be deferred to some future Common Council.

ORDERED the Mayor Issue his Warrant to the Treasurer No 2748 of this City to pay to Abraham P. Lott Esq' or order the sum of £80: 10 for the like Sum by him advanced and paid for Cleansing the Oswego Markit and for three Cord of firewood Sent to the prisoners in the New Goal

ORDERED the like to Mr Huybert Van Waganen or order No 2149 the sum of £13:6: 4 for divers quantitys of Nails furnished for the wash House Erected Contiguous to the Alms House &c. as his said acct Sworn to and allowed of by this Board

[27] ORDER'D the Mayor Issue his Warrant to the Treasurer of this City to pay to William Mitchel or order the sum of £5 for one quarters Sallary due to him as publick Whipper of this City the 5th Instant

The Committee appointed to Conferr with the petitioners for water Lots fronting their Severall Houses Lying to the Eastward of the Exchange between that and the Coenties peer made Report thereof in the words following: City of New York ss: &c [Report not entered.] which being Read was ORDERD to be put off for further Consideration

IT being Represented to this Board by alderman Filkin that notwithstanding the many publications made by this Corporation for all such persons who are in arrear to this Board for Rents Reserved on Grants & otherwise to discharge them by a Certain day therein made mention of and that hitherto no Regard having been paid to Such publications therefore moved that such persons who now appear to be in arrear upwards of two years might be prosecuted ORDERD Nemine Contradicente that Such persons be prosecuted forthwith and that the Clerk of this Board Issue process against them accordingly

ORDER'D by this board that the sum of £300 be Raised for Defraying the Expence of Regulating and Repairing the publick Roads in this City and County for the year ensuing and that the same be laid on & raised by a Tax on the Estates Real and personal of the freeholders
