Public Works Execution.

4 The Minister shall not expend the sum of One thousand Pounds mentioned in the Second Part of Schedule (1.) unless he is satisfied1. That the sum of One Pound is locally raised and expended

on any work, or

11. That land or material is provided for or labour done locally on any work to the value of One Pound,

for every One Pound expended by the Minister thereon.

Provided, that no part of such sum of One thousand Pounds shall be expended, except as hereinafter provided, in any year by the Minister in any Road District in which a Road Rate of One Shilling has not been levied and collected during such year, but such Road Rate shall e in addition to, and shall not form any part of, the moneys raised for the purposes of this Act.

5 The Minister may expend any part of the said sum of One thousand Pounds mentioned in the Second Part of Schedule (1.) upon any jetty, provided that the Road Trust having the control of such jetty expends out of money collected from any Road Rate the sum of One Pound on such jetty for every One Pound expended by the Minister thereon, notwithstanding such Road Trust shall not have levied and collected a Road Rate of One Shilling in the year in which such money is expended.

6 It shall be lawful for the Minister to expend any sum of money authorised to be expended by the Act of the Parliament of Tasmania, 59 Victoria, No. 44

1. Upon any work where he is satisfied that land or material is provided for or labour done locally on such work to the value of One Pound for every One Pound expended by the Minister thereon:

Upon any Jetty, provided that the Road Trust having the control of such Jetty expends out of moneys collected from any Road Rate the sum of One Pound on such jetty for every One Pound expended by the Minister thereon, notwithstanding such Road Trust shall not have levied and collected a Road Rate of One Shilling in the year in which such money is expended.

7 It shall be lawful for the Minister to estimate the value of any land given by the owner thereof for the purposes of constructing Quayle-street to Maryville Esplanade, as authorised by the Act of the Parliament of Tasmania, 59 Victoriæ, No. 8, as money provided for and towards the construction of such street.

Provided always, that such street, when made, shall not be less than Fifty feet wide throughout.

8 All the provisions contained in "The Public Works Construction Act, 1880," and "The Branch Roads Construction Act, 1881," shall extend and apply to the Works mentioned in the said Schedule (1.) as fully in all respects as if the said provisions had been incorporated in this Act.
