That all my powers, with all their might, In Thy sole glory may unite. Praise God, from whom all blessings flow, Praise Him, all creatures here below: Praise Him, above, ye angelic host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. MORNING SACRIFICE. THE morning comes all fresh and bright, The new day breaks so calm and clear: Keep me this day, as Thou hast kept Lord, without Thee I go astray, Friends, parents, comforts, all are Thine, Guard Thou my thoughts, guide Thou my path, A CHILD'S MORNING PRAYER. ONCE more the light of day I see; My heart and voice in song to Thee The "busy bee" ere this hath gone O'er many a bud and bell; From flower to flower is humming on, Oh! may I like the bee still strive Each moment to employ, And store my mind, that richer hive, With sweets that can not cloy. The skylark from its lowly nest My feeble voice and faltering tone But Thou canst in my heart make known Instruct me, then, to lift my heart To Thee in praise and prayer; And love and gratitude impart For all the gifts Thy bounty sends, For food and clothing, home and friends, Thus let me, Lord, confess the debt I owe Thee day by day; Nor e'er at night or morn forget, To Thee, O God! to pray! MORNING MERCIES. NEW every morning is the love Our wakening and up-rising prove, Through sleep and darkness safely brought, Restored to life, and power, and thought. New mercies each returning day, New perils past, new sins forgiven, New thoughts of God, new hopes of heaven, Old friends, old scenes, will lovelier be, We need not bid for cloistered cell, The trivial round, the common task, MORNING INVOCATION. THROUGH Thy protecting care, O Thou great One in Three! God of our sleeping hours, All our imperfect powers MORNING PRAYER. O LORD! through Thy indulgent care, In peace I laid me down; And now Thy soft, bright beams of love My waking moments crown. |
