Constitution and Privileges. Governing Body.

The court consists of a master, 2 wardens, and 18 assistants. Elections are by co-optation from the livery. A fee of 151. is payable on election ; a fine of 201. on rofusal to serve. No fees are paid for attendance at courts.

The average standing of the members of the court is about six years.

Members.

The number of the livery is 105, including the court; that of freemen not liverymen, 45.

During the last 10 years there have been 57 admissions to the freedom,- -one by servitude, 8 by patrimony, 48 by redemption-53 calls to the livery, and nine bindings.

Tho fees are : for the freedom, by patrimony or servitude, 21. 12s.; by redemption, 61. ls. ; livery fine, 201.

About 301. is annually distributed among poor members, or widows and orphans of members.

This company is extinct.

Property. Corporate Property.

The company's corporate property consists of 3,2001. Dominion of Canada stock, producing 1281. a year, 'a variable income derived from fees, and furniture, plate, &c. worth about 1001. Trust Property.

The Company is not a trustee of charities, but they apply the proceeds of two legacies amounting to 1551., for the benefit of their poor.

WOOLMEN'S COMPANY.

Foundation and Object. The return states that the probable date of the foundation of the company was about 1300. By the 27 Edw. III. c. 23. the company acquired a right to license persons qualified to wind wools. The last licence was granted in 1779. This company has also existed under the title of the Woolpackers' Company and the Woolwinders' Company.

The court consists of a master, wardens, and assistants, 14 in all. A fine of 10 guineas is paid on election, and each member present at a court receives a guinea.
