ORDER'D the like to Abraham Van Gelder or order the No 2703 Sum of £57:3 to be by him paid to the several Lamplighters for Lighting the City Lamps, the 1st of March last to the 1st of June instant

[325] Agreed that every Member of this Board give his Attendance upon the Summons of the Mayor or Recorder within one Quarter of an Hour at least, after the Time appointed for holding a Common Council, and that if any Member be not there by that Time that he be Subject to a Fine of one Shilling for the first Quarter of an Hour and a Shilling for the whole or any part of the next Quarter that shall elapse so that the Fine in the whole do not exceed two Shillings, which Fine of two Shillings shall also be paid by such member who shall not attend such Common Council to which he may be Summoned unless he can Alledge some reasonable Excuse for his Absence; that Mr Hugget be Treasurer of the said Fines & keep an acc! thereof

The Clerk produced to this Board an Engrossed Grant for a Water Lot in the South ward to Thomas & Elizabeth Hunt which being read was approved of, and ORDER'D to be Signed by Mr Mayor and Alderman Filkin, and that the same be delivered to said Thomas Hunt on his Executing a Counterpart of the same, on Behalf of himself & Sister who hath appointed him her Attorney for that Purpose. ORDERD the Mayor Issue his Warrant to the Treasurer No 2704 of this City to pay to Elias Burger or order the Sum of £80 15 in full of the Ballance of his acct for Building a

Mr Recorder reported to this Board that the Committee who were appointed to draw up some Necessary Orders & Regulations respecting the City Watch, had proceeded to that Business and that they had accordingly drawn up the same, which being read were approved of by this Board, and ORDER'D that the Clerk of this Board make two Copies thereof to be Delivered to the Captains of the said Watch for their Guide & Direction

ORDERD that the Street begining at the House of Andrew No 2708 Hopper, nearly opposite St Paul's Church and leading to

Fresh Water, be called Chatham Street.

ORDERD that the Aldermen & Assistants of the South and Dock wards together with Ald? Brewerton & Ald? Waddell be a Committee to view the Ground, proposed to be conveyed to this Corporation by Mr Henry Remsen, at Nassau Island for the use & Conveniency of the Ferry lately established there, and that they make Report thereof to this Board with all Convenient Speed

ORDER'D the Recorder issue his Warrant to the TreasNo urer of this City to pay to Patrick Walsh or Order the 2709 Sum of £34: 1874 (out of the* [page 385 line 7] monies (Issued) paid into his Hands on Account of the Lamps & Watchmen) in full of his Acct for money due to himself and sundry Watchmen for Watching this City, as pr the said Account, audited by the Committee sworn to and allowed of by this Board.
