ORDERD the Mayor issue his Warrant to the Treasurer of No 2624 this City to pay to Mr Charles McEvers or order the Sum of £100 being what this Board agreed to contribute towards the purchase of some Ground belonging to Archibald Kennedy Esq' for the enlargement of a street or alley leading to the Sloat in this City.

ORDERD the like to Charles Prosser or order the Sum of £3 for Services by him done for this Corporation

ORDERD the like to Samuel Francis or order the Sum of £97, in full of his acct against this Corporation

ORDERD the like to John Dikeman Esq or order the Sum No 2627 of £7: 14:11 for money by him advanced for the Expence

of Sundry Committees.

John Nagle being Elected an Assessor & Constable for Harlem Division of the Out ward of this City, and having refused to Execute the Office of Constable; this Board in Consideration of the Hardship upon him of serving in both [287] of the said Offices do order that there be had a New Election for a Constable on Tuesday the 18th of January next at ten oClock in the morning of the same day at the House of Henry Van Breme, and that Aldm Dikeman be the presiding Officer at the said Election, and make Report of the same with all Convenient Speed

ORDERD the Mayor Issue his Warrant to the Treasurer No 2628 of this City to pay to Thomas Smith Esq' John Lasher, Peter W: Iss! Ricker, & Joseph Hallet or order the Sum of £126 : 10 : 1 in full for the Consideration Money of a Piece of Ground lately purchased by this Corporation of the Presbyterian Church in this City (this Wt Issued to Mr McDougall)

THE COMMITTEE Appointed for Auditing the Publick Accounts made Report to this Board that they had Examined the Books & Vouchers of the Chamberlain and find the Ballance of £4690: 434 due to the said Chamberlain on the 14th of Oct 1773, on the Cash acc! and the Ballance of £887 3:41⁄2 due from the said Chamberlain to the Corporation on the Lamp and watch accts on the 31st of December 1773

THE PETITION of Messrs Jacob Walton & Nicholas Governeur was preferred to this Board & Read, Praying a Grant of the Water Lot

fronting their Respective Ground on Hunters Key bounded two feet into the East River on Such Reasonable Terms as this Board Should Judge Proper & Reasonable: [288] ORDER'D by this Board that the Consideration thereof be referred until the next Common Council

THIS BOARD taking into Consideration the Petition of Wm De Witt & George Haspell heretofore preferred to this Board for a Lease of some of the Common Lands near Inklawnbergh, Resolved & ORDERD that the Prayer of said Petition Cannot be granted

THE PETITION of Dennis McGuire was preferred to this Board & Read Praying a Lease of some of the Common Lands in the Rear of his Ground near Turtle Bay; ORDERD by this Board that the Consideration thereof be had at some future Common Council

ORDERD the Mayor Issue his Warrant to the Treasurer No 2629 of this City to pay to Edward Blagge or order the Sum of £18 14 for Inquests by him taken on Sundry Bodys from the 15th of October Last to the 16th of December following as pr his said acct sworn to & allowed of by this Board

ORDERD the like to Francis Post or order the Sum of No 2631 £1:16:1 for work done & Materials found for the use of this Corporation as pr his acct Sworn to & allowed of by this Board

ORDERD the like to Thomas Smith Esq' or order the Sum No 2632 of £2 for Drawing Indentures of Lease & Release from the Presbyterian Church to this Corporation for a Lot of Ground Near the City Hall.

ORDERD the like to Jacobus Stoutenburgh or order the No 2633 Sum of £204 10:8 out of the monies paid into his hands W! Iss by the Church Wardens of this City in full of his acct for monies by him advanced & paid to Sundry Watchmen, for Watching this City from the 21st of October 1773 to the 16th of January inst, Including his Sallary for attending said watch from [289] the 1st of October to the said 16th of January ins! as pr his said acct sworn to and allowed of by this Board

ORDERD the Mayor Issue his Warrant to the Treasurer No 2634 of this City to pay to John Baltus Dash or order the Sum of W! Iss! £20 11:3 (out of the monies paid into his hands by the Church Wardens of this City) in full of his acct for Sundry new Lamps and mending others by order of this Board, as pr his said acc! Sworn to, audited by the Committee & allowed of by this Board

ORDERD that the Clerk of this Board Prepare Advertizements to be put in the Weekly Gazettes for Letting to farm the ferry between this City and Nassau Island, and also the ferry between this City and Powluss's Hook for the Term of three Years, to Commence on the first day of May Next by Publick Out Cry, at the Common Council Chamber in the City Hall of the said City, on Tuesday the 15th of February next at two oClock in the Afternoon, to the highest Bidder and that this Board or the major part of them be a Committee to Let the same, upon such Conditions as they shall judge Proper

Hardenbrook & Hamersly be a committee to appear & manage the controversy before the Commissioners appointed to settle the line or lines of division between the City of New York & the Township of Harlem so far as concerns the right of soil in controversy
