Attached to the almshouse are 47 acres of land, 40 of which are reported to be under cultivation; value of land and build

ings, $34,000; estimated value of the labor of inmates during the year, $500; estimated value of the products of the farm, $2,437.28; receipts from sales, $190.39.

Expenses in connection with the almshouse for the year ending September 30, 1903, $9,470.38; estimated weekly expense per person, $1.71; expense of temporary (outdoor) relief administered by the overseers of the poor, $9,424.59; aggregate expenditures for support and relief, $18,894.97.

Total number in the almshouse during the year, 160; remaining October 1, 1903, 85 (60 males and 25 females), including 7 feeble-minded or idiotic and 3 blind persons; number of wayfarers to whom meals were furnished at the almshouse, 693; number receiving temporary (outdoor) relief, 435; total supported and relieved during the year, 1,288.

To establish and maintain a home for destitute and homeless children, as well as for such children as may be committed by law to the custody and care of the asylum.
