WHEREAS it appears that James Wheeler, late of the county of Luzerne, deceased, was seized in his lifetime as of an estate in tee simple, of a certain tract or parcel of land, situate in the township of Braintrim and county of Luzerne, which he in his lifetime did sell, and engage to convey to Daniel Sterling, of said county, for the consideration of six hundred and fifty dollars, part of which, to wit, five hundred and twenty-four dollars, was paid to the said deceased in his lifetime, but as there is no written evidence of the said sale, to enable the administrators of the said deceased, to make and execute a deed to the said purchaser, consistent with the laws of this commonwealth : Theres fore,

An ACT to enable George Gantz, Henry Kunkle, and others elders, church wardens, and trustees of religious societies, called the Lutheran congregations in the townships of Codorus, Shrewsbury, and Hopewell, in the county of York, to sell and convey certain lands.

WHEREAS it hath been represented to the legislature, that George Gantz and Henry Kunkle, elders, trustees and churchwardens of Jerusalem's church; Jacob Erhart and Michael Ness, elders, trustees and church-wardens of Zion's church; and Francis Hartman and Martin Kurtz, elders, trustees and church-wardens of Saddler's church, in the townships of Codorus, Shrewsbury and Hopewell, in the county of York, purchased on the seventeenth day of March, in the year one thousand eight hundred and four, three several pieces or parcels of land, for the use, convenience and accommodation of the said congregation, as church land, otherwise called glebe land, and the said three pieces or parcels of land, not answering the purposes for which they were bought, the elders trustees and church wardens aforesaid, believing themselves not vested with power to sell and convey the same, legally discharged of the trusts and uses appurtenant thereto, have prayed for power to do the same: Therefore, for remedy thereof,
