14. If watermen or lightermen abscond in the time of an impress, when summoned, (as the statute in that behalf requires,) they shall suffer imprisonment for one month, and be disabled for enjoying any privilege of the river for two years...

1. Every lighterman, or owner, or keeper of lighters, shall be of one Company with the wherrymen and lightermen. 2. And all the lightermen (except as therein excepted) before 1701, shall be registered...

8. And none but such, or their servants (or free watermen to be registered) to work, on the forfeiture of £5 per week.

2. All lightermen to be liable to all orders made, or to be made, for the better government of this Company

12. But owners of keys, and wood mongers, permitted in their own lighters (and in their own proper business) to employ lightermen..
