The Fifty-third Session of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana began and was held in the Court House, in the city of Indianapolis, on Thursday, the 4th day of January, A. D. · 1883, at 10 o'clock, being the day fixed by law for the meeting of the same. The House of Representatives, being called to order by Hon. E. R. Hawn, Secretary of State, by authority of an act of the General Assembly, Prayer was offered by Rev. Myron W. Reed. Mr. Hawn then announced that the roll would be called and the members present would appear at the bar of the House and be sworn in. 165521 |
