FISHERIES-DISPOSITION OF DOMESTIC CATCH: 1950 TO 1972

[Round weight of catch in millions of pounds. Prior to 1960, excludes Hawaii. In addition to whole fish, a large portion of waste derived from canning, filleting, and dressing fish and shellfish is utilized in production of fish meal and oil. From 400 to 500 million pounds of waste were used in meal and oil production in each year shown. See also Historical Statistics, Colonial Times to 1957, series L 155-161]
