SAMUEL STEERE, son of Asa (69), grandson of Jonah (27), was born January Samuel 29, 1795. He married, first, June 8, 1817, Phebe Medbery, who was born June 8, 1797. She died April 6, 1834, aged 36 years, 9 months, and 28 days. His second wife was Sally Medbery, who died August 19, 1851. He married, third, April 9, 1852, Mrs. Susan M. Congdon, née Medbery, who died February 6, 1857; and fourth, Mrs. Lucy M. Wheaton. In 1817 he bought the northerly part of his father's farm in Glocester, where he lived. The homestead finally came into his hands. He was smaller in stature than the rest of the family. He died October 4, 1880, aged 85 years, 8 months, and 5 days.

1825, aged 24 years and 8 months. His second wife was Sarah, widow of Thomas Irons. He died February 23, 1872, aged 75 years, 4 months, and 7 days; she died September 8, 1872, aged 79 years, 2 months, and 29 days,

HARRIS STEERE, son of Nehemiah (72), grandson of Jonah (27), was born June 24, 1799. He married Adah Tucker, daughter of David and Ann Tucker, who was born October 13, 1805. They lived in Smithfield. He died August 30, 1861, intestate, and his son Erastus N. Steere of Providence was appointed administrator December 28, 1861. Mrs. Adah Steere died March 22, 1866. Her son Job F. Steere was appointed administrator of her estate November 28, 1868.
