1. Sir Charles Gresham, Bart. Lost in the East India Ship the Mumford, between Jan. 1749 and March 1750, on his way to the East Indies. Under age and unmarried. Admon. in the P.C.C. 26 Feb. 1751.

Sir John Gresham, Bart., 6th and last Baronet. Succeeded his brother. Bapt. at Titsey 9 Oct.
1735. Educated at Cambridge. Served in the Army. Mar. at St. George's, Hanover Square,
2 June 1765. Pulled down the old Manor House at Titsey between 1767 and 1775, and the old
Church in 1775. Appointed a Commissioner of Salt Duties 14 Dec. 1765, continued till 1785.
Voted against Mr. Fox in the Westminster Election 1780. Died at Brompton 20 Sept.; buried
at Titsey 30 Sept. 1801. Will dated 27 May 1796, codicil 17 Sept. 1799, proved in the P.C.C.
3 Oct. 1801.

1801. "At Brompton, where he resided for the benefit of his health, Sir John Gresham,
Bart., of Titsey, near Godstone, descended from Sir John, uncle of Sir Thomas, Builder of the
Royal Exchange. He was the 6th Bart., and succeeded his brother Sir Charles, who died without
issue. Sir John Gresham was a short man in person, but considered to be a very excellent horse-
man. In early life he had served in the Army, and succeeded to the estate of that very respectable
family after a considerable diminution of it."-('Gent. Mag.,' 1801, p. 962, and vol. lxxi., p. 1049.)
"On Sunday last, at Brompton Villa, after a long and painful illness, Sir John Gresham,
Bart., the last male heir of that ancient family."-(Obituary Notice, Times, Friday, 25 Sept.
