RENTS RECEIVED FROM LEASE OF TRACKS, YARDS, AND TERMINALS. In former 3 years ending June 30, 1891, a total track rental of $18,700 was deducted from income account; however, this should have been $14,000, the balance, or $4,700 to be returned as operating expenses, which has been done, and the same course will be followed for the year 1892 and following years. (Page 53.) IMPORTANT CHANGES DURING THE YEAR-STATE of MINNESOTA. Here present statement as follows: 1. All extensions of road put in operation. 2. Decrease in mileage by abandoned or line straightened. 3. All important physical changes (other than those referred to). 4. Ail leases taken or surrendered. 5. All consolidations or reorganizations effected. 6. All new stocks issued. 7. All new bonds issued. 8. All important financial changes (other than those above referred to). 1. During the year a westerly extension of the Cedar Rapids, Iowa Falls & Northwestern R'y was accomplished by the building of a branch line 5.41 miles long connecting this railway with valuable quarries located in that region. During the same period this company has operated the partly finished line, known as the Davenport, Iowa & Dakota R'y. Its length is 31.09 miles, and runs from Davenport to a point on the Cedar Rapids & Clinton R'y, 3 miles east of Bennett, a station on the last named railway. Arrangements for the final possession of this road have, up to this time, not been completed, but may ultimately lead to the purchase of the property. (Page 55.) CONTRACTS, AGREEMENTS, ETC., AFFECTING BUSINESS ON ENTIRE LINE. Here give a concise statement of all existing contracts, agreements, arrangements, etc, with other companies or persons, concerning the transportation of freight or passengers. Give the statement in the following order, viz: 1. Express companies. 2. Mails. 3. Sleeping, parlor or dining car companies. 4. Freight or transportation companies or lines. 5. Other railroad companies. 6. Steambout or steemship companies. 7. Telegraph companies. 8. Other contracts. 1. The United States Express Co. operates all the lines of the B. C. R. & N. R'y, at a monthly payment of $4,900, or 58,800 per annum. If 40 per cent. of their gross earnings exceeds the sum of $58,800, then such excess has to be turned over to the B. C. R. & N. R'y Co. 2. No fixed contract. The rate of compensation for carrying the U. S. mails is based upon the weight of the mails during a period fixed by the government. 3. Sleeping cars are owned by the Pullman Palace Car Co. R. & N. R'y pays for the use of such cars 3 cents per mile run. expires March 7, 1893. The B. C. 5. Running arrangements have been made with the M. & St. L. R'y between Madison Junction and Forest City, with the use of depot facilities, at a monthly payment of $262.50. Contract expires August 1, 1892. Freight traffic arrangements with the following railways, viz: Chicago, Rock Island & Pacfiic, Chicago, Burlington & Quincy, Chicago & Northwestern, Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul, Minneapolis & St. Louis, Iowa Central, Illinois Central, and tributaries.
