The following is a statement of the date of each accident, the place where it occurred, the train, the cause and the extent of the injuries inflicted upon each person, and the name of such person, as follows:

1869.

October 6. Jas. McCarty, of Watertown, N. Y., jumped from express train when under full motion, near crossing at Gidding's bridge and was instantly killed.

October 16. H. J. Bean, engineer, Potsdam Junction, N. Y., while repairing bumper between passenger and baggage cars, the train started, catching Bean under the wheel; he expired in fifteen minutes.

November 2. Wm. Haggerty, of Toronto, Ontario, while asleep near the track about a mile north of Watertown, was struck by the locomotive and killed.

November 13. As train was running south of Pulaski, one of the coaches ran off the track and tipped over. Several passengers slightly injured.

November 20. Locomotive "Adams," when near Pulaski, exploded her boiler; the engineer, Louis Bonveriue, was

instantly killed, and the fireman, Thomas Cox, and a passenger named McCormick, slightly injured.

1870.

January 24. Train No. 1 going north and when within about a quarter of a mile of Philadelphia, ran off the track in consequence of a broken rail; J. H. Taylor, of New York city, jumped from smoking car and was instantly killed; Albert Anderson, of Ottawa, Ill., back and spine injured.

June 11. John Ward, Ogdensburgh, N. Y., was injured by train No. 1 running into him near Heuvelton; Mr. Ward was old and deaf, and was crossing the track with his horse and wagon when the accident occurred.

July 20. Freight train running north ran into empty cars at Sandy Creek; F. Larrabee, fireman, was injured and his leg was afterward amputated.

July 21. John B. Schram, Watertown, N. Y., brakeman on freight train, while coupling cars at De Kalb Junction, caught his foot in a frog; train ran over him killing him.

August 22. Trains Nos. 13 and 18 collided about half a mile north of Brownville; Mrs. John Clark of Three Mile Bay, head cut and otherwise injured; Thomas Luce, Watertown, contusion of forehead and slightly injured; John Whalen, express messenger, cut on forehead and hip bruised; Lawrence Delany, fireman, hurt in head and knee; Mrs. Geo. Davenport, Watertown, slightly; infant, collar bone broken and face slightly hurt.
