8. The water district of the town as heretofore defined Water district. by by-law, from time to time, pursuant to section 11 of chapter 81 of the Acts of 1891, is hereby declared to be extended so as to be co-terminous with the boundaries of the town, and all moneys by any Act or Acts heretofore passed, assessable upon property and income situate within the water district of the town, shall hereafter be ratable and assessable upon all property and income within the limits of the town.

Provided, however, that such extension shall not take effect until the Town Council of the said town passes a bylaw extending the water district of the town to the boundaries of the town, as mentioned in this section.

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

1. The town of Amherst is hereby authorized to borrow on the credit of the town such sums of money, not exceeding three thousand dollars in the whole, as may be required, for the purpose of extending the sewerage system of the town, as may from time to time be directed by the Council.

2. Any outlay incurred by the town under this chapter, 1906, to apply. including the annual interest on debentures authorized to be issued, shall be met, as provided by section 3 of chapter 114 of the Acts of 1906, the whole of which section shall apply to all moneys expended under this Act.

3. For the purpose of effecting the said loan hereby authorized, the Council is empowered to make and issue, subject to the provisions of "The Municipal Debentures Act, 1902," from time to time, as the Council may deem expedient, the town's debentures, each in the sum of one hundred dollars or a multiple thereof, bearing interest at such rate as the Council may determine, not exceeding five per centum per annum, and redeemable at a period not exceeding thirty years from the issue thereof.

4. This Act shall not take effect until the same is adopted by a meeting of the ratepayers of the town, duly convened in accordance with the provisions of sections 143 and 144 of "the Towns' Incorporation Act.' Whereas, an award has been made under the provisions of said Chapter 110, providing for the widening of Union Row, in the town of Amherst;

And whereas, a meeting of ratepayers was called, and held under the provisions of section 12 of said chapter 110, and said expenditure was not approved by said meeting;

And whereas, it is desirable that the matter of the said proposed expenditure be again submitted to a meeting of ratepapers for their approval;

Therefore be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

1. The Town Council of the town of Amherst may, under the provisions of section 12 of said chapter 110, and of "The Towns' Incorporation Act," at any time within six months from the passing of this Act, call a meeting of the ratepayers in all respects as though no previous meeting had been held, and if at said meeting, so called as aforesaid, the expenditure required by the said award, made under the provisions of said chapter 110, is approved, as required by the award already made, the Town Council shall proceed with the said work in accordance with the provisions of said chapter, and the award so previously made shall, when confirmed by the Town Council, be in all respects a valid and effectual award.

2. The said Town Council, in its discretion, before calling a meeting as aforesaid to approve the expenditure required under the award heretofore made, may proceed, under the provisions of said chapter 110, to have a new award made in accordance with said chapter, in which case all the provisions of said chapter shall apply to such new award in all respects as though no previous award had been made thereunder.

CHAPTER 109.

An Act to enable the town of Parrsboro to borrow Money to extend its Water System and secure an

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

1. The town of Parrsboro is authorized to borrow upon Power to the credit of the town, a sum of money not exceeding ten thousand dollars in the whole, to defray the expenditure to be incurred in the future in extending the present water system of the said town, and securing an additional supply of water, and for no other purpose.

2. The debentures authorized to be issued under this Lien. Act shall form a lien upon, and be a charge against, the property liable to taxation within the town of Parrsboro, and all the revenues of the town.

3. For the purpose of affecting the said loan, the said Debentures. town is empowered to make and issue, from time to time, as the Council deems expedient, the town's debentures for five hundred dollars each, bearing interest at such rate as the Town Council determines, not exceeding, however, five per centum per anuum, payable half-yearly, and redeemable in twenty years from the issuing thereof. Such debentures shall be signed by the mayor and clerk of the town, and under the seal of the town, subject to the provisions of "The Municipal Debentures Act, 1902," in so far as the same is not inconsistent with this Act.

4.
